Rangemaster... HELP
Comments
-
Briefly:
Bought from BnQ on HP delivered Jan/Feb 2012
Out of warranty
Cost £2399
Tried and failed to arrange an out of warrenty repair... Happy to pay but being told its not happening.
called in to BnQ this morning and they are trying to contact Rangemaster to help me get a repair sorted.
If I cant get a repair and my appliance is effectively landfill do you folks think I have a SAD FART case? Should an appliance that costs £2399 be landfill after 3 yrs? Is that lasting a reasonable length of time? Am not holding out for BnQ to get anywhere as I have been trying a week. Cant go much longer without a fridge or freezer but opions on if I would be wasting my time trying the sale of goods act on BnQ :-)
Oh, forgot to add: the fault is the freezer drawers started to get warmer and warmer. A few days later the fridge followed suit. Both were at 27 when I turned it off
Evening all
What was the eventual outcome here? Did you manage to get the FF fixed?
Reason for asking is that I too have an expensive Rangemaster FF costing the neck end of £2k, and guess what? 3 years on and exactly the same symptoms as yours.
I have an aftercare insurance, but we're 6 weeks and 4 engineer's visits down the line, and the thing's still knackered, and we're facing the prospect of Christmas without a fridge/freezer.
Repaircare are the insurance company's engineer of choice - we've renamed them 'don't-repair-don't-care', but that's another story...
Any advice greatly received
