leejp, get a Barclaycard then a 0% balance transfer card such as Tesco or Santander 123, transfer a non existent balance (usually 95% of credit limit) to the 0% card from the Barclaycard and ask Barclaycard to refund the positive balance to your bank a/c which you can stooze. Worked for me, fee free.
I'd like to transfer a positive balance to my BT barclaycard. Any other credit cards people used and didn't have problems with refunding a positive balance?

I've been stoozing for a quite a while now but have recently set up as a limited company as I'm a contractor. Are my stoozing days over or will I still be able to get accepted? Grateful for any advice.
  • Hi everyone,
I have an EGG card with no debt unit and use egg money. Do i have the correct EGG card to start opening up other cards and doing balance transfers to it and then earn interest. I like to have some mid range earnings in future - 24-48 months?

Zero percent for purchase and Balance transfer credit card mismatch duration
I have seen sometimes a credit card is offering 0% on balance transfer with zero BT and at the same card there is also zero percent for purchase but with a shorter duration.
    Say for instance
3-years zero percent on balance transfer with zero BT fee but only 1-year (not three years) zero percent for purchase, what happen if

    - I have used it to transfer the balance from another credticard benefiting 0% on BT
    - Within the first year I also use it to purchase items to make use of 0% for purchase up to one year
    - After one year has elapsed I clear all of the “purchase” balance (only purchase ) leaving the balance solely on BT which already took place a year

    The question is:
After I clear all of the purchase balance by the end of first year, Is there any way to avoid paying any interest in this way, or I will still need to pay the interest due to the payment order of the credit card??
    Thanks

Everything I've ever read on stoozing says don't use the same card for bt's and spending.

In this sort of situation what sort of balance amounts could you get transferred? I guess two aspects to this question:
    1) I'm sure it depends on your credit score etc, but assuming decent credit score, what sort of amounts could you realistically hope for?
    2) Given there actually isn't a balance to pay off, do you just ask for the max that your credit will allow? I would have thought that for a balance transfer, they'd want to know that balance did exist on the other card?
