Flight prices seem really high at the moment. Only 4 seats left on Thomas Cook flight at cheap price...what to do...just wish Norwegian would bloody release their flights.0

I know it's not what you were asking but you are aware of the likely weather in August in Florida aren't you:

We love Florida but no way on Earth would we ever consider going in August!0 -
Been to Florida in August loads of times, it's never bothered us. Storms sometimes in the afternoons but never for long.0

I think the OP has been before in Aug from one of the posts. It's more the humidity than the heat, indeed not many people went there in August before British tour operators discovered many years ago that they could get Orlando hotel rooms dirt cheap in that period and sell packages at a low price for a long haul destination.0 -
Yes it's gone from being off-peak to peak despite the weather! Just thought I'd mention it - a few years ago a friend went to Australia in Jan and went to the barrier reef but didn't do any research into the weather, he was annoyed at people like me who'd been before and didn't warn him about the weather (my excuse was he'd had it all planned out before he told me about it so it was a done deal at the time - what's the point of telling him then?!).I think the OP has been before in Aug from one of the posts. I've never been in August but a I remember a guy I used to work with went there with his family and he swore he'd never go again, they did all the theme parks and they were rammed and spending 95% of the day stood in queues in the heat/humidity then getting soaked was not his idea of fun! I just told him he was really lucky he missed out on a hurricanes in the peak hurricane season

We have been in August before (last year) and said we would never go at that time again (having been in October previously). However we have an 11 year old (will be 12 by next year) so are stuck with school holidays as we are taking him out for a week next christmas (shhh - school don't know yet
)
Have come close to booking the outgoing flights so many times so far, I am so impatient!0 -

The parks are busy in August, sort of contradicts your opinion that it's no fun. The parks realise that it gets hot and sticky, lots of queues for rides are indoors and air conditioned, the ones that are outdoors usually have some shade and also fans which spray mist to cool you down. If it was so bad, people wouldn't go and the parks would be quiet. Yes it's hot and humid but it beats queueing in the cold and wet.0 -
We found it really started to get quieter in the last week of August (similar to when we went in October) and although it was hot (and humid) the queuing was never really a problem.0

I said it wasn't his idea of fun! Some people might like queuing in the heat, others are may only be there, like my ex colleague, because they didn't realise what it was like! I just mentioned it in case the OP was the same - but clearly not from subsequent posts.I've never been in August but a I remember a guy I used to work with went there with his family and he swore he'd never go again, they did all the theme parks and they were rammed and spending 95% of the day stood in queues in the heat/humidity then getting soaked was not his idea of fun!

For me I've never been on any ride in any theme park which was worth more than a 30 min queue, whatever the weather!The parks realise that it gets hot and sticky, lots of queues for rides are indoors and air conditioned, the ones that are outdoors usually have some shade and also fans which spray mist to cool you down. When we went, Oct/Nov time, it was brilliant, not too hot and very short queues. Though this was a long time ago, and we spent most of the holiday doing other stuff, even without queues and the heat I can only stick a couple of days of theme parks!
There's so much else to Florida, it's a brilliant place for a holiday even you hate theme parks!0
