The following is available for £400 from a local business that has been trading from same premises for 11 years.
ACER Vesrtin, could be Veriton,(Business Spec).
AMD A6 Quad Core Processor
4GB Ram
500GB hard drive
Windows 7 Professional
No gaming, just general use and some HD video playback.
Does this seem OK for the price?

Thanks but not sure what I am looking at.
Would prefer to buy local as if something goes wrong it is simple to return.
Just need not much more than a basic computer, however would need to know what that basic should entail re Processor etc, I will be happy with 4GB Ram, and 500GB HD, prefer Windows 7 to start with,(this guy told me Windows 7 only available as business spec.

What does that pc include, does it have things like the monitor/keyboard/mouse?
for just the base unit, its pretty expensive for what it is.
It'll do fine for basic tasks, its just you can get something better for cheaper0 -

Just the base unit as per OP.

I'm assuming this is just a box with no monitor, that's very expensive.
Have a look here to give you an idea of what you can get for your money (£251.19 after £50 cashback)

What warranty do they have?
It is slightly overpriced.
I suggest you check out dell outlet business, which they do refurb product with 3 years warranty. You should be able to get i3 with your budget.0 -

Adding to the above example, one can use the saving to purchase a Lenovo or ACER extended warranty for three years or more.
acerdirect is not ACER, but agreed, not worth £400.0 -
Too expensive for the specs you mentioned.
This might be a good option to consider
