Hi everyone
Thanks so much to you all for taking the time to reply, some really helpful ideas and thoughts.
After reading a lot of your comments I felt a lot better about just going with the flow for now but as luck would have it my son just decided to try sleeping in with his sister one night and has been in with her for five nights now. It's been wonderful getting back to some normaility and while it's still not an ideal solution it's ok for now.

It's seems like it's always the way with children. You think something is sorted and then it changes, and just when you feel like you can't take it anymore and it seems like this is the way it is now, it changes again. Sleep issues are the worst though as you're just so tired and don't have the reserves to deal with it how you want to.
I'm glad things are improving.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0
