Hi,
After the email about time limits coming in i decided to check my old car load from 2000.
Bit confused as the first letter i have is from Lombard, but the second letter i have is from First National Bank where i paid the loan off.
I have the agreement numbers and the layout of the amount im borrowing etc. I can't see anything that's specifically PPI, but i'm wondering with all this misselling it's just included by default. What's the best way to be sure i had it?
Also, as Lombard is still about and i believe first national was Abbey National but is now Santander do i write to both Lombard and Santander?
Cheers

If you bought the car from a dealer they may have sold you separate PPI from an insurer which won't show on the loan documents. If you did have PPI provided by Lombard it will show somewhere on the documentation. If the agreement makes no mention anywhere of PPI or similar words like Gold Protection Plan then you didn't have PPI. You can check the loan payments are correct by putting the loan details into one of the many loan calculators available on the internet, if the figures match then you're only paying for the car. Even if you had PPI it would be the car dealer who would be responsible (because they sold it to you) and they do not have to consider your complaint as the sale is pre regulation. - NB You also have to have complaint reasons as to why it was missold0
