Because the dealer gets commission and splits it with you.0

ah really interesting to kmow, and also i am on orange, but it was a better deal to get a new contract rather than upgrade ?? so i am going onto EE can i port my number over even though its a new contract0

Not sure about the porting now as although they are separate for some things they are really one outfit. You'd have to check with EE first.0

You can't port over an Orange number to EE directly using a PAC, so you will need to find another non EE network sim card and shift the number to that, request your PAC from that other network and then bring it back to EE (although it could have been avoided if you'd done it as a migration upgrade with EE or indirectly via a dealer, although beware that some will insist on a new connection, as the dealer is subbing the cost using the bonus).
EE's retentions use a number of factors to base the retention offer on, but as a rule of thumb if you have made revenue for the company either through overspend or amount of connections then they will be more money in the pot to play with, so to speak.0 -
Hi, just wanted to step in here. To port your number over to EE from Orange all you need do is ask Orange for a pac code. I port Orange customers onto EE all the time and it is a simple case of asking for the pac code. Really not necessary to port to another network and then onto EE.0

have done this on Friday so it wont go through while Monday, thanks, but my point is i got a better deal getting a new contract rather than upgrding0

Orange to EE ports are handled as if you were moving to T-Mobile.
The two networks still exist in sim and network codes, pnly the name has changed to encompass T-Mobile as EE and Orange as the ugly step sister they dont want you using.
Eventually the Orange issued sims/accounts will all be transferred to EE(T-Mobile) issued sims.
The whole plan of transferring O customers to EE sims may reverse.
Or BT Cellnet may do a Genie again, but use completely different network codes.
Even BT Mobile Broadband may use unlimited 3G on the old Orange network code/sims as a fill in for landline customers with 4G EE for mobile handsets.
or BT use 4G and run a seperate provider on 3G only Orange issued sims.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0
