Found another cost for being disabled😡

Thanks to everyone. Sorry about the rant. I've been in hospital again so unable to respond.

For information I have patient transport now with an ambulance, not a taxi because of my medical needs.
The journey is an hour each way. Before going to hospital as an outpatient every week I would be in every two to three weeks for two weeks at a time so the nhs are happier with me coming in regularly To minimise admissions.

I do get DLA and I get help with a direct payment for my carers because my finances are now too low, but I still have to top this up because no care agency will work for the direct payment cost in my area. I would need to employ multiple carers if I didn't use an agency and after trying this I went back to agency care. I have the usually expected additional costs of being disabled. Excessive Charges for 0845 numbers seemed a preventable cost.

Patient transport is there as a service to help the nhs keep people healthy. The ambulance drivers are all lovely but the planning is atrocious and the delays and missed appointments due to patient transport cause massive headaches for the hospital staff.

Inspired by people on mse I have written to the CCG in my area to raise my frustration was that there was no 0845 alternative of any sort.
