Good afternoon everyone, I never managed to get a post done yesterday as it was rather hectic, to cut a long story short, I went to speak to dh’s work and I managed to get myself a few hours. Apart from that yesterday I just had all meals from stores and spent time with family.

It’s a sunny and warm day here, hard to believe it’s the start of October.

    So far today I have:
Attend trial day at new job – It went well and I am back in tomorrow. I could be wrong but I think I will actually enjoy working here. (its not the type of work I want but it will help me pay for uni)
Spent some time with dh and kids

    My plan for tonight:
Ask dh to have a look at my car, as engine management light came on.
    Do 2 loads of washing
Check Facebook – trying to avoid procrastination, as I have found that I will spend all day online to avoid studying.
Answer message that I got from friend, as things have been so hectic since I received it and not had a chance
    All meals from stores
    Meal plan for next week
    Check banking
Revise the weekly planner for this week, as the next 3 days have changed
    .
    Check FPL
    Check Luckyphone
Check JPJ daily, whilst avoiding the temptation to spend
    Do some studying
    Swagbucks
    Do tree people survey

Spend some time with dh once the kids are in bed before he goes back to work.

I think that is enough to be working on tonight, Hope everyone is having a good Thursday x

    Hello everyone,
Thank you for starting us off Jonno :)

Been doing an 11.5hr shift at work today :( not fun although have been quite busy (not with customers) but with doing managers checks etc. My manager is on holiday so I am doing the checks for her which hopefully means I'm more likely to get a promotion in the future, plus gives me something to do!! Especially now it's coming around the the quiet time of year :(
I work in a travel money bureau in a popular supermarket and now it is begining to slow down for us.

Anyway as I've had a long old day at work today only got a small list for today :)

Heres what I've done/going to do today:
    - Breakfast from stores
    - Dinner from stores (if I can find anything - need to go shopping and really low, OH gets paid tomorrow so waiting until then to get food)
    - FPL
    - Unpack some more later if I feel like it

    Only a small one today!
Have a good day everyone :)

    Hi All

Thanks for the thread Jono. Good to see you checking in.

Carrie - hugs to your in laws. How sad. It is awful when the end is a lingering matter.

Maria - good to hear from you too as you've been quiet of late. Glad DD isn't eating you out of house and home :) hope your difficult day is now over?

Dawn- Glad you had a nice meal out.

Twiggy - hope you feel better soon.

LegoMum- things like fennel seeds really don't need a use by date anyway it's a bit silly. Glad you are using them up. One thing I love them in is home made baked beans. Really cheap to make and very yummy.

Minnniemousesmummy - Glad your jobs going well.

Ally - thanks for the update on the consumer rights.

Foxgloves -I try to PAD each day but can't. But you are right. It's great to be thinking about and trying to. You may even surprise yourself with how much you do save before the new car buying comes up.

JoJo- we used blackboard paint in our old house to make a cool blackboard wall. Never run out of space to write :)

Twiggy -you can make a lovely pear and ginger cake. Or do a version of Tarte Tan but with pears instead of apples. Pear is delicious with Stilton or other strong blue cheese. I'd also recommend stewing it down to use in compote.

So today was a good day. A mum came in and paid her party deposit and I also had a lady come in at lunchtime and spend £40 on takeaway which was a great boost for the takings.
Found 20p on the road on my way to work.
We had a very basic meal for dinner which OH made. Pasta, garlic, basil, carrot, oregano and cayenne with a basic tomato sauce and grated cheddar. Very cheap.
Did a load of shredding so my basket is clear & filed away any personal paperwork in my in tray. Also cleaned through the business in tray and tidied away.
Went online and checked both sets of banking. Logged all spends against budget spreadsheet & spend app.
Managed to play football for 20 mins in the garden with son tonight although I didn't do much running ;) was nice to see him well enough to run about and giggle again.
    Personal NSD

    Think that's it.

    Have a good night all.

    Bob

Read up on how I use the Tesco Orchard voucher that I've received. I signed up after Ally mentioned it. Apparently I have to buy some exotic fruit and apparently people can find such items very daunting. Hahahaha, can't say I feel daunted by figs, passion fruit or the like but I def want some free fruit.

Wonder if we're due some more coupons soon...Orchard link. (Link)

Some good ideas for pears. I also make pear chutney, pear & orange jam, freeze pots of pear & cinnamon compote for topping my porridge & pickled pears. If you use nice jars for the latter, they make a good foodie gift.
