 Morning everyone!
Just one UU to report - Original Source Mint and Tea Tree shower gel. DH loves this so definitely WBA, just after he's used up all the fruit salad scented ones...
I don't wear much make up - silk purse and sow's ear - so I'm not sure what my HG cosmetics would be. I do try to only use cruelty-free products. I did naively think all of the big players were against animal testing, but reading here I've learnt that some are not. Is there a go-to list of products not tested on furry critters? Sorry to sound so uninformed.
Hi Dizzy Imp,
I find PETA are always quite up to date on their lists.
http://www.mediapeta.com/peta/PDF/companiesdotest.pdf
Above is their list of companies that do test and below is the companies who don't test on our furry friends.

Yep that's what I could find online tooally.0 -
Thanks Emma - I've visited both lists and am now quite upset that I have been unwittingly using products that claim not to have been tested on animals, but seem to have ingredients that are
It would seem that the parent company of DH's favourite shower gel are in this category. Label states "vegan" and "tested on us" but I have found info online that suggests some ingredients may have been tested on animals. I'm now wondering how many of my other cosmetics and cleaning products do too. I feel foolish for believing the label at face value.
I understand the need for animal testing for drugs and medicines but really thought cosmetic manufacturers had stopped all that. Gutted.0 -
Hi everyone, sorry I've not been very active this month, everything is taking soooo long to UU and RL has been busy as ever.
I finally have a UU:
1/141. TBS Coco Butter Body Butter 200ml - this was a freebie and I WMBA though it is pricey - a little went a long way and it lasted much longer than other BBs I use. I adored the scent too! have replaced with a shea butter one.
Also some freebie INs:
1/93. L'Occitane Precious Cream 8ml
2/94. LRP Effaclar Duo 30ml
And a couple of sold OUTs:
2/16. Elemis Herbal Lavendar Repair Mask 20ml
3/17. L'Occitane Milk Soap 25g
I'm sorely tempted by an advent calendar and did promise myself the Liberty one but I just can't justify the extra products at the moment - maybe next year if I keep the stash levels (and my spending) down!MFW 2017 #123 2018: £1,852.64/£39,200 (4.7%)0 -
Hi ladies I'm back. Sorry don't think I'll have a chance to catch up on the thread however will try to remember my INs from the US:-
From Bath & Body Works:-
4 x candles - on offer 2 for $24 when usually $22 each.
1 x body scrub, shower gel and body lotion (shea type in tube) in the fragrance Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin. These were on offer buy 3 get 3 free but Emma got the other set.
5 x Pocket Bacs - 5 for $6
I had a voucher for 20% off the whole shop as well.
From ULTA:-
Nyx Baked Blush - Spanish Rose
Nyx La Amoureux mascara
Nyx eyebrow cake powder
3 for 2 offer
Have tried all these and love the blush. The mascara is ok - not bad but not wow either. The cake powder is ok so long as you don't go heavy handed on the wax afterwards as I did the first time I used it and looked like I had an oil slick on my forehead.
Also got Vichy eye cream. Was going to get the Murad but the SA recommended this instead which was cheaper and I got a small jar of night cream as GWP.
Did a second trip to ULTA as I was on the look out for the Lorac Pro Matte Pallette which was not in stock the first time and to see if the new OPI Holiday colours were in.
Picked up the Lorac pro pallette which I love. Also picked up 2 x EOS lip balms in a promotional pack in aid of Cancer Research, a couple of Real Technique sponges for Emma and another Nyx blush called Wanderlust (again, I love this). I got great savings on these as I had joined the loyalty programme before visiting US and from the spend I made earlier in the week and that Emma made I had accrued points and also had an email through from them for$3,50 off a $10 spend.
From Sephora (my memory gets a little sketchy here because Sephora are now in JC Penney over there and I did visit a few!):-
May be easier to post links so here goes:-

Had to donate the Kat von D Lolita to Emma as it's too dark for me. Love the Marc Jacobs and the Fresh Sugar ones. Have not tried the Tarte one yet. The other two (MUFE and Sephora Collection) are gloopy and drying respectively however if I put the Sephora one on top of another colour it's fine.
Bite Cosmetics lip colours in Dulche and Glace. These are gorgeous too.
http://www.sephora.com/draw-line-P399825?skuId=1736305
The set I got though had a bonus bottle of MUFE make up remover with it which I've only tried once so will review when I've had more use from it. I have only used the Stila pencil so far. I may not keep them all. May gift them out.
Formula X nail colour in Extreme I think. Must check that. It's a liquid sand type glitter.
From Walgreens:-
Essie Gel Setter top coat. Have used it on top of hte above colour on Monday night and so far no chips. V impressed.
From Target:-
2 x Burts Bees Lip shimmers. Used to love these but must admit having used the EOS one now I think I prefer these.
2 x packs of Yes to Grapefruit wipes. We went through loads of wipes on holiday as I tend to be a bit lazy about removing make up after a hard day sunning myself! UU Simple oil balancing and Simple Micellar water. Loved the Micellar water ones however also equally love the Yes to Grapefruit. YTG are more expensive and not as easy to get hold over near me in the UK though.
Blushed Fragrance from Abercrombie and Fitch. Lovely light fragrance that reminds me of the shop.
Have been to Boots since returning to get some Acetone nail polish remover to remove the gel finish I had applied before my hols which is now under the Formula X colour.
I only remember UUing up a 50ml can of C&P and the wipes above on holiday. Left some items there as there was no room in the case for the returning items plus I didn't want to repack half empty liquids that may have spilt everywhere.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Welcome back VALM. I wish we could get Bite lipstick here, they do one in the colour Fig which I really want.
I have a candle uu
Yankee Candle Large Jar - Pink Dragonfruit - WNBA, me and YC are over, too much soot, not enough scent (although this was reasonably scented) don't burn evenly and too much wax left when the wick has burned out.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Hello ladies,
What a fantastic haul ValM! I hope you had a good time! I love the US.
Some UU for October so far:
4x Garnier moisturiser sachets. I finished the last one this morning, I think I will buy a tub of this at some point, heaps to use up first.
Sanctuary bath float 75ml repurposed as a shower gel. Nice enough.
Boots extracts mango body wash 75ml I think, this is lovely, will look to repurchase after all shower gels are gone, or in the boots sale!
INs:
Sample pot of L'occitane precious cream.
Have resisted all the magazine freebies at the moment, but will possibly get a L'occitane hand cream.0 -

It is annoying really. Also nowadays it is possible to do the testing on computers - you don't really need animals, even for drugs but it is more expensive obviously.ally.0 -
