Hi, I have read the newbies page but came to the forum a little late in the day and am not sure how to proceed. Two people went to the cinema, bought tickets, entered the reg mark of the vehicle on the ipad, and a week later received a letter from Minster, Notice to Keeper. Reel Cinemas were emailed on their contact page asking for advice, no response. A visit to the went to the cinema and and was told to contact them direct. They assured me this would all go away This is where it starts to go wrong. An email of a photograph of the ticket was sent to enquiries@ instead of appeals@. This is a legitimate and valid email address. A demand for payment has been received and emailed a photo of the ticket again to the same email address, again no response. The letters now are threatening to send the debt to a debt collection service. Per the newbies thread Reel have been contacted , their advice, appealing to minster. Looking at the template letter perhaps should try the whole tickets were bought ipad used approach. Not admitting who was driving. Any help would be appreciated, as has been the advice you guys have already put out there.

Appeal using the template in the NEWBIES thread exactly as it is, making sure you don't miss the appeal deadline.

You should already know what to do about debt collectors if you have read the NEWBIES thread. Ignore, ignore, then ignore some more.

  • Thanks for the rapid response, The notice to keeper letter is dated 23rd June, so I assume all deadlines have officially passed.

Officially? You are dealing with scumpanies that have no regard for following the rules.

Appeal anyway. There is some new Euro-legislation I think that says you should be allowed to appeal up to a year after the event. One of the experts may be along at some point to help with that, or do a keyword search on here or the internet.

Post up redacted copies of the NTK and any other paperwork so the experts can pick holes in it. PLease also give us the date of the parking event and let us know if there was a windscreen ticket.

Also complain to the CEO of the cinema chain and tell them you, your friends, and your family will become ex customers if this isn't cancelled pronto. Use fakebook, tw@tter, and tripadvisor as well to spread the word about this scam.

  • Will take your advice and keep you advised. The infringement was on 17th so they didn't waste any time sending the notice out.

But the wording on the Notice won't be capable of keeper liability so keep all the letters in a file marked 'scam' and ignore them then. But don't bin them for 6 years, just in case MB ever break the habit of a lifetime and try to take this to court. Debt collector letters are not court stage, ignore them too.

To be clear, we would have advised you to appeal any BPA member ticket (except DVLA-banned companies like UKPC) had you been in time.

  • Thanks Coupon-mad, but I am hoping to resolve this. I will keep the thread up to date with any progress, or not. So many threads are started, but we never get to find out the end result.
  • having problems as well, are trying several different tactics will keep you updated how get on
  • Hi an update as promised. The appeal was rejected as being out of date, and they may send it to their debt collections team. As this was action suggested by Reel, an email has been sent to them asking for their input. No reply as yet. Would like to hear if anyone out there makes any progress. :)

You are just in 'ignore the debt collector letters' mode then, as explained in the NEWBIES thread post all about this tedious stage of nothingness.

  • Thanks for keeping tabs on my post, I appreciate the support, and advice posted by you and others. Per your previous post, I appreciate I am at the keep the letters stage, but when I was searching the forum for advice I couldn't seem to find the full story anywhere, so I was just going to keep posting any updates so other newbies can follow my story from beginning to end. As for advice I do not and did not expect to get anywhere with Minster, but I am continuing to contact Reel Cinemas about this in the hope that they will do the right thing. This is what I am hoping for updates on, if anyone is successful in getting Reel to do something for their customers, I would appreciate any tips.
