currently with tmobile want new contract with EE but keep old number
Options
hi
i don't know if anyone has had this situation arise. my contract with tmobile is coming to an end very soon. i have seen a great deal on a new contract phone with EE from a 3rd party seller. when i contacted EE to see if they would match the price, they initially said i can't go with a new contract as i am already with them (EE), i could however go with a much more expensive upgrade contract. i stated that my contract was with Tmobile not EE and he relented. however his next obstical was to say that if i did that i would lose my number as they can't transfer the number internally and i can only use a pac code with a different company.
i would prefer to go with EE if possible, and was considering buying a payg sim, transfering my current number to that and then transfering it back onto my new phone. however that seems a lot of effort and i was wondering if anyone else had any suggestions or had encountered this before?
any advice appreciated, thanks in advance.

If you don't want to upgrade to EE (which is the only way to move your old T-Mobile number to EE) you will have to get a PAC, get a simcard from another network and activate it, (Giffgaff is a good choice as you can get a PAC from them without having to speak to anyone) and then port your number back to EE on a new contract.====0

What deal have you seen from a 3rd party seller?0

I'm in the same boat here, I took out a (second) contract with EE a few months ago, now I want to port my T-Mobile number in now that contract has ended.
What is the *cheapest* way to do this? Is it still GiffGaff (minimum spend £10) or can I just get, say, a Tesco PAYG sim and do it that way without any spend?
Does anyone know of a way to do it without spending a tenner?0 -

You need an active sim, you will struggle to get a network to supply a PAC before you top up, also Giffgaff is the easiest way to actually get the PAC.
If you want a hassle free process just use Giffgaff.====0 -

Yep, I thought so, that's what I've done. Some cashback from TCB will offset it a little anyway.
Looking back my emails it looks as if that's what I did the time before last contract was up - I think I made a mistake of going to Tesco Mobile last time and ended up paying through the nose because I switched away before I had served 30 days or some such.0
