Help -faulty 11 year ol boiler

I have had a gas engineer around and he says its uneconomic to repair. So now we have a boiler that works when it wants to and that we have to keep topping up and sounds like a kettle stating to whistle when it gets hot.
So we tried to source a boiler:
1) free boilers - we dont meet criteria of the the specified benefits
2) cant get a loan - poor credit rating because I was made redundant with a lot of debt - paying off with my debt management scheme (self administered - interest frozen)
3) Applied to a charity - refused.
4) we have NO savings.
Our income is good but our expenditure including mortgage is very high. Its myself aged 63 and have carers allowance for my wife and a private pension. My wife is just coming up to 61 and gets ESA (based on contributions) private pension and DLA ( middle rate care and high rate mobility). Our grand daughter is now living with us permanently. She is 17, in full time education and my wife just started to receive child benefit for her. We are not entitled to child tax credit. Just over the max income for it.
So has anyone any ideas where i can go next please.
Thanks
PS its a gas boiler

Increase the mortgage on the house? A few grand wont make much differenceFeudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0
