Hi All,
I tried to upgrade my phone online a few times with my provider and after a few terrible incidents where they couldn't complete orders or recorded the wrong details i was able to upgrade. i was told that the new S6 edge was to be sent to me the next day, on checking the order it hadn't been dispatched by midday. on calling the provider they said it wasn't in stock and wouldn't be sent till next week. I cancelled the deal on the phone as i could go and pick one up at the shops.
Strangely, i received the new phone yesterday. on calling the provider they have no record of it other than the contract being cancelled when i called. so my question is now i have this handset that has been sent incorrectly is it mine? do i need to pay for it? or do i need to return it back to the provider?
Thanks in advance,

make it available for there collection - at no cost to yourself (including your time)0

when i had the previous handset sent out to me i had to request a return bag and take it to the post office. From other posts i dont think asking them to 'come and get it' really works.
The main question is that they dont have it on their system and no record of it so i cant really return it as they need a phone/contract to return it against0 -
come and get it does work, if they want it back they will have to collect, you are under no obligation to go out of your way to return this, you have already confirmed they believe the order was cancelled, it is now "unsolicited goods"0
-
should i make them aware of these "unsolicited goods" as i remember a discussion years ago that if someone sends you something in error (and doesn't claim it back within a timeframe) that it is yours and cannot be charged for it0

put it in writing (email) give them 28 days to collect, tell them you will dispose of it if its not collected within 28 days.
you also want a reply stating that the upgrade was cancelled and your now making a complaint, in your case no more phone calls it has to be in writing (email) you do this to protect yourself not them.0 -
just checked CAB (citizens advice beaure) and they've advised that its 14 days on their standard letter. but best play it safe for the month. thanks again0
