A web search told me I was due an upgrade and the next day I got a call to discuss this. I wanted an iPhone 5C or 5S. The young man on the end of the phone strongly recommended the 5C, told me the 5S, in effect, just had a couple of gadgets. I agreed the phone arrived the next day and after a few days of struggling with it I realised the problem was it only has 8GB memory. I phoned carphonewarehouse to request a return and after some toing and froing was told it was an early upgrade with a no returns policy. I then agreed it should go to 'escalation' for the recorded call to be monitored and was told this would take 3-5 days. On day 5 (working day) I rang to be told it is 5-7 days. I am now perilously close to my 14 day returns period and cannot get any action. The phone call failed to give me any information on memory of either phones. I feel carphonewarehouse have a stock of iPhone 5Cs they are offloading and I think I've been conned:sad::embarasse:embarasse

I don't believe there is a "returns period" on an upgrade unless their t&c provide for it.0
-
Thanks for that.
I don't believe I was told the no returns but that is obviously why they are supposed to be reviewing the recording. I am so frustrated as I am happy to spend more money to get a phone'fit for purpose'. I know I should have thought about the memory but I'm facing a long period with a phone that I can't even add new contacts to as the memory is so limited.0 -
Can't you use your old phone in the meantime?0
-
I'm using my old phone for lists and calendar but as it was an upgrade I got a new sim and my number transferred to the new phone.:sad:0
-
It doesn't transfer to the phone, but to the sim - which you can use in any locked phone that takes that size sim. That won't solve your problem, however.0

They really shouldn't be selling any phone with just 8GB memory. Apple should be ashamed.0

Has the memory change in the iphone 5c ? Granddaughter as one and she's over the moon with it and you know what kids are like with photos and texting all the time.
I had a iphone 4-4s with 8gb memory can't remember which one and it worked fine never ran out but to be honest i don't know anyone that's run out of memory with iphone.
The wife as the 5 but i think that's got 16gb
Not like a android phone i had with 8gb it ran out after an hour of getting it when i was downloading apps from google.
Still with android but phone as got plenty of memory.Nobody is Perfect. I am Nobody, therefore I am Perfect.0 -
If it wasn't done face to face, then i'd ask CPW why the distance selling rules wouldn't apply?0
-
Er... because it's an upgrade.0

My daughter has a 5C but it has 32 G memory.0
