Buying a new bed! What do you think about the Ottaman Storage Styles?

Hey Guys
I urgently need a new bed, been looking around. I preferably want a faux leather one with storage. I've been looking around & Argos are doing some good deals.
These new type of beds (Ottaman) where you lift up the mattress and the storage is underneath..are they any good?
I have always gone for traditional Divan Beds, and never had them slated wooden base beds before..so all this ottoman style beds are quite alien to me...they look good but do they fair well?
Thanks in advance

Another alternative is the ones with the drawers built into the divan part. You get the built in storage but you don't have to faff about lifting the mattress. You don't get quite as much storage though.0

I bought my first Ottoman storage bed 30 years ago so hardly a new idea!
Very handy for storage and you can get divan style as well as the wooden slat design.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

I've always thought Ottomans are a very impractical design because you have to lift the mattress up.
I'm slightly in love with this storage bed from Ikea though:

We have one and it isn't any problem to get into the storage - you don't physically have to lift the mattress!0 -
Thank you. I have had my divan with drawers for a while now...that Ikea one looks nice :-)
Didn't know you could get divan style....I was thinking something like this...http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/4139018.htm#pdpPromotions (20% off argos at the moment as well)0 -
We have one in every room, the amount of stuff you can store in them is fantastic. I would be careful with Ikea beds, you can only ever have their own mattresses, they are unique sizes.0

Just bought two of those lift-up beds for our new bungalow to maximise storage, they hold an awful lot of stuff and are easy to lift up. Early days yet but they seem fine.http://www.bensonsforbeds.co.uk/georgia-brown-ottoman-bed-frame(AKA HRH_MUngo)

I looked at them a while back as DS1 is in the box room.
Some mattresses sit on top of the base frame, some sit inside it. There is quite a difference in 'footprint size' if space is an issue.
Visit a show room and have a practice.
I would love one of these for storage. However, it did give me the idea of pulling out the draws in my divan and filling the gap in the middle with 'junk' that I don't use much.

We decided the lift up storage would be too much hassle, so bought a bed with side draws:

We wanted a bed with an end on it rather than open ended.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0
