'wet' storage heating system

OK, this would be for a very specific need - trust me.
Forget how efficient or expensive such a thing might be, is there such a thing as a wet storage heater? one that can be connected to a normal circulating hot water central heating system and act sort of like an electric storage heater giving off it's heat over a longer/later period.
If there is such a thing and someone could point me in that direction I would be most grateful.
