I want to revert back to Windows 7

Could someone tell me, in the most simplest of words/instructions how to revert back to windows 7 please.
I upgraded yesterday on my laptop & it took over 2 hours to do so. OK. I tried to sign in, as my laptop has a password, & it wouldn't let me!!! Told me my password is invalid.:( I tried to reset the password but, duh, I hadn't set up a 'master password disc' whatever. I turned off my laptop in frustration & went & had my Sunday dinner (jerk chicken, roast lamb, rice & peas with salad if anyone's interested :rotfl:) Finally went back to my lp & was able to sign in.
This morning turned on my lp & waited, & waited, & waited for the desktop to appear. No such luck, so I turned it off using the shut off button. Waited a few secs then turned on again. The lp took 4 minutes from turn on to desktop!!! Seriously not good. I want to revert back. Please help.
Q: If I want to give windows 10 another go at a much later date, would I be able to? and how would I go about that?

PS: , whats an lp?0 -
On your lp (laptop) from Settings > Update & security > Recovery.
You have until July 31st 2016 to upgrade to Windows 10 for free.If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.0 -
