Career advice required – Law – I have never got off the ground - Long post

Well it was intended as a light-hearted remark, but I did mention the grade to suggest that even with a first, an automatic legal career is far from guaranteed. Maby that wasn't necessary, but the 'awesome' bit was to show I am happy with my life and confident despite not having a legal career. At law school, everyone is so focussed on getting that dream training contract, that it can be a real let-down for young enthusiastic students to realise that without connections + a high class degree from Oxford or Cambridge, you are going to be facing a lot of competition. There has been quite a lot of criticism about legal training recently, which is expensive, and entices students with the promise of wonderful career prospects which only a few will ever achieve.
Don't let it get you down law girl, and definitely don't let it define you. You are awesome too
I also think insurance/tax are great options and did apply for a couple of positions and was invited to interview, I just ended up with a part time charity job which suited me better before they could come to anything. Good luckHome educating mama of 2, aiming to be self-employed in 2021

In my opinion the call out was clearly a troll post, so I should not have taken the bait.[
You are entitled to your opinion, but I can assure you that it wasn't a troll post. There was a genuine reason for that post, but because of the unkind remarks you have posted in response to it, I will not open myself up to further attack.0 -

I wouldn't take any of the comments to heart. It was you who welcomed me to the boards when others weren't as kind - that isn't the way a troll would behave. Take care of yourself.0
