You are wrong.
I can see you've decided to go into argumentative mode, not going to bite further.
The Regulations are clear, you don't need to bite. Have a read of the legislation (not the idiots guides, they are designed for basic understanding).
I do apologise to the OP for this going slightly OT though.0 -

Yes, I am very clear on this.
Discretionary returns after 14 days do not need to have outbound postage costs returned. Sorry you don't understand the Regs. As you say they are designed for basic understanding...0 -

No, I didn't say that, I said the idiot guides are for basic understanding. I directed you to the legislation itself. I can post you a link if you can't find it.
Likewise, an extended returns period isn't the same as a discretionary return……if you offer an extended returns, you cannot withhold payment other for than those scenarios outlined in the Regs.
As for a discretionary return, well that's not the same thing at all.
I didn't think you were going to bite?0 -
I am not a business trader. My buyer left me feedback in the positive category but stating that the garment was "far too small". I consider it subjective, as it is too small FOR HER but my listing give all the measurements. My listings state no returns but I have offered my buyer to return it and she wants to.
I listed on a BIN with free postage, so presumably I have to issue a full refund? Does my buyer pay the return postage?
Do I ask my buyer to open a returns request and is that even possible, given that she has left feedback? Can I recoop my eBay FVF? If relevant, the item in question cost £11. It will cost £2.80 to send it back.0 -

If you use the Ebay returns process you need to refund in full. You will get your FVF refunded when you refund this way. If you didn't go through the returns process then you could deduct money for postage you paid. You'd have to get them to agree to cancel the transaction to get your FVF back. If they refused you wouldn't. As long as they open a case for changed mind then you do not have to pay their return postage costs. If they opened a case for not as described then you will be automatically charged.
Personally I'd left it alone. They may have left you low stars which will end in a defect. Its unlikely you'd get that removed if they returned it or not,0 -

Funnily enough, my item was £11 too plus £3.50 postage and the scenario was pretty much same as yours. I am still waiting for them to close the case though, as I can't do it my end, however, eBay reassured me that if I escalate it, it will be closed in my favour. I don't think it is fair on sellers to loose FVF on the refunded item, when the buyer underestimates their size. You do all you can to make sure all details and sizes are listed, and all they have too do is get the tape measure out before placing an order. Anyway, £1.10 is it a big loss, I can live with that, just annoyed more than anything.0 -
mrcol, I've just checked my stars and sure enough, this buyer left "Low detailed seller ratings for item as described". She left low stars and negative remarks, when she didn't take the trouble to measure.
I'm not inclined to voluntarily refund her now. It was not in my terms and conditions.0 -

My buyer has asked a second time if she can return the garmet.
I believe the buyer never bothered to measure or mistook my cm measurements for inches. My listing was clear.
I have replied, stating that my listing was marked "no returns" and noting that she left negatively worded positive feedback, which contravenes eBay policy, and left a 1 star rating, which none of my buyers has ever done.
The consequence I think, is that I will no longer qualify for free listings offers. Is it possible to have the feedback and star rating removed?0
