Upgrade time, (S4 Vodafone)

Options
Its that time of year, just passed my upgrade date and wondering what to get next.

I currently have a Galaxy S4, Unlimited calls and texts and 1GB data on Voda, £28 ish, S2 previously so a bit of a fan of the Samsung Galaxy phones..

Not that keen on the S6 though and for some odd reason the S5 seems to be priced the same or only £1 less. Is the S6 a bit of a flop? Reading flipboard earlier and they are give discounts on the S6 already, $200 off?

Currently Unlimited minutes and texts and 1GB of data, New plan wants to be cheaper than £28 and have at least 1000 min/text and 1GB data.

Voda sim only deals seem really poor value.

Suggestions? Thanks...

  • Yes. Use a cashback deal for the same bundle (but 2GB) costing £3.50 and get a phone separately.
  • Cashback deal for the same bundle @ £3.50? Is that a 12/24 month contract?

If its 12 or less i camn wait to see if the S7 suits my requirements better.

800 mins, 2GB data, unlimited texts on Sainsbury's Mobile for £12.50 on PAYG/Sim only if you need Vodafone.

It's 24 months with a basic phone. There are cheaper deals (including free) but with much smaller bundles.

Thats seems like a non deal to me, I can get a better deal off Voda with a free phone included. offered the s3 mini or a sony as an upgrade inc in that price but 600 min, thats ok for the wife but i need at least 1000 min and most of the family call my phone and expect me to call them back all the time.

Currently on Unl minutes but a min of 1000 should be OK.

Vodafone will give you a free mobile with a 30 day sim only contract?!

Not a 30 day contract but for the same price. Paying £14.50 for an S4 mini.

I could get another S4 mini for £14.50 a month and sell the phone for £90 ish which will work out at £10.75 a month.

The Sainsburys option was mentioned as you wanted flexibility to get a new phone - but in more a cost effective way than your Vodafone setup.

I want another Samsung Galaxy phone, but the S5 is currently overpriced and the S6 doesnt appeal at all. Too many reviews of the backs peeling off and the lack of an SD card slot and easily removeable battery.

A must have when the original battery i had in the S4 swelled within a few months of owning the phone.
