  • Hi,

Well I bought three of those units and put one in a small bedrrom which seems to be worst affected, one at bottom of stairs as I read somewhere this was a good idea and one in our living room.

We did get some mould in our Kitchen this week (could dryer cause this?)

If we bought one of those EcoAir ECO DD122 Desiccant Simple Dehumidifier should we move it around or place at bottom of stairs etc?

P.S COuld the weather be cause it a bit as we moved in in May and no problem showing till Sept and particularly bad this week.
  • I bought one of these last year in nov and its very good. My house does not suffer from mould but prevention is better than cure.

Anything that puts moisture into the air can cause mould, so if your drier puts water into the air, could be. Yes, cold damp weather will make the problem worse.

If you leave the doors open in the house it shouldn't matter too much where the DD122 is located. The machine will reduce the humidity throughout. You can always experiment and see where works best. We have ours near the kitchen which is where we reckon most moisture is generated.

If you have a huge house and/or a really bad damp problem you might want to look at buying a bigger machine, but for a normal 3 or 4 bedroom house something like the DD122 should do the job.
