Any Disney character books, The Mr Men books, also depends on what kind of things the child like's to do. If there was a book about riding a bike and your child like to ride his bike for instance.

I am sure Kindle and other e-readers have a whole section on children's books which are free to download, so you have the choice to change the book if your child doesn't like the one you are reading.
