Thank you all for the replies, you are all correct in a way. Having never received a parking fine I first thought it was a scam, 60 pounds for over 10 minutes but I done a quick Google and most of the results where full of people saying to ingore them and there are such and such plus asking family members they advuved the same thing.
It's only when the court letter arrived I second guessed it and done a more detailed search and found the correct information provided from this forum and others. Researching more into it I've realiesd I have left it was to late to appeal and advise though poppla and feel like a mug for trusting the advice I first obtained. But that's how it is, I've started my first full time job and begun to earn a wage. So now it's not the fine that's the major problem it's the more the principle of this company from what I've read taking anyone to court for as little as 3 minutes over due parking.
I shouldn't of chucked away the letters so hastfully! But I will contact Ramarda and see what I can achieve there but I find I don't really have the free time to go to court and I'd rather just pay them, as I think it's the case with most people.
Yet agian thank you all for repling, and yes being a 1 St time offender I now learnt to research these things like well planned essay. I let you guys know how it turns out!0 -
You can reset the clock by naming the driver even at this late stage (in extremis!!!) Not sure what everyone else's advic on this is?0
-
If the driver isn't the keeper it really is simple, you CAN reset the clock to appeal stage, simply by giving the name and postal address of the person who was...probably...ermmmm...think about it...driving the car that day all those weeks ago (because it wasn't the registered keeper was it??).
Then they get sent a fresh PCN and hey presto they can appeal. Done it, it works. Don't pay these greedy bullies.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Happy to be told off for not sticking to point, mikey, but this alone ' I've started my first full time job and begun to earn a wage.' deserves all our help so you can keep it, unscammed by parking lie.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

OK, so it seems to me that you argue all the normal point (lack of standing, not gpeol, non compliant signage etc) but also, you stopped to read the signs, decided NOT TO ACCEPT THE TERMS then exited, right? (Dependant on timings of course!)
Also this is ParkingEye is it not? Check into advertising consents under the Town and Country Planning (Control of Advertisements) (England) Regulations. Providing certain criteria are met, I'm betting their signs are unlawfully placed anyway in that they haven't got advertising consent which breaches all sorts of further contracts they may have entered into subsequently! (Where was this? I can do some digging for you if you like?)0 -
But first off, complain robustly to the conference centre - they have the power to end this NOW!0
