How Much is Gutter Clearing?

Options
I want to try to phone round some people to get quotes for this but have no idea if the price they are then going to tell me is fair or ludicrous.

I've googled and can't really find anybody that stands out to do it - is it a company type in itself, or is there another trade/job name I need to look for?

Gutters are standard, plastic, on a new build, three sides of a 2-storey semi, at 50-55' in total. Clear/good access all round.

How much is to be expected?

Specialist companies tend to charge more and tend to do taller, bigger buildings most charge call out £50 – £100 and hourly rate £40 - £75? Dependant on plant required, An odd jobber , £40 - £80, Sometimes if you have a window cleaner that still uses a ladder ? They’ll do it cheaper as there cleaning windows no more than 1 - 2 hours dependent on how much and what’s in them ?

Our window cleaner offered to do ours for £90. It took them a couple of hours.

My window cleaner does them for an extra tenner.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

He needs to move close to my house then!

I haven't ever had a window cleaner. I've never lived anywhere where it's grubby enough to need one. Most dirt washes off with the rain and it just takes the odd wipe now and again if something extraordinary occurs.

I had a huge bird splat the other week - I opened the top window, squirted it with stuff, waited, then rinsed it down with a couple of bottles of water and it was as clean as it needed to be again :)

Surely they'd have an area they worked/covered, in a rotation, where the price on Wednesdays is £X as I'm in the road, but if you want me to come on Friday then it's a lot more because I have to do all that getting to you/getting back malarky.

They'd not return home after each job.

They should offer a "drive thru" price, where the householder has cash in their hand as they get off the ladder - and as they're putting the ladder on the roof of their car the householder's washing their tools for them :)

One bloke, doing every house in my little bit (14), could do the lot in an easy day .... that'd work out at over £1k/day!

I need to get myself some ladder smarts....and a roof rack :)

I had mine done for the first time in 25 yrs....just a couple of years back by two Polish blokes for £50. But plants are now growing out of it already

If they planted some seeds in there to ensure they had to come back quicker, then the joke is on them cos I might be replacing it all :rotfl::rotfl:

we charge £3 per metre up to 30ft in height,£5 per metre up to 40ft.Your price would be £51 based on 17 metres of guttering being cleaned,a window cleaner would be able to do it cheaper as he wouldn't have travelling time involved and probably wouldn't have the proper insurance either,so if he then had an accident and sued you for £50,000 I think you would be kicking yourself for trying to save a few pounds.

Oh behave, those days are gone my friend. A self employed window cleaner or a company for that matter do their own risk assessments and if they take the job on the risk is theirs and theirs alone..
