Try sending a text with the word "Balance" on to 20202.

It costs nothing and thats what I use to recieve a txt back with my remaining minutes and txt's.

    Good luck :)

Actually, I tried this numerous times and it doesn't work :(

Because it only applies to PAYG.
  • I've recently got a simplicity sim card and not very happy, yes the blank text to 20202 works, but the information you get is 48 hours out of date. So as the above poster correctly states, o2 must want to confuse users into using more minutes/texts than they have. Then they can charge extortionate rates for going over the allowance. If 3 can give you a live balance (it was so easy using my3 on the handset) then why can't o2? I'm glad its only 30 day contract as I think I'm going to cancel due to this problem.

I think it's only Three who provide such an up to date balance of remaining texts/mins. I believe all other networks lag behind by about 24-48 hours.
  • I think it's 21202 not 20202 x

What phone do you have? Most of them now keep a log of how many text messages have been sent and how many minutes of calls have been made etc. You can just reset it back to zero at the start of your billing month. And it will always be up to date.

Yeah, for monthly pay contracts a blank text to 21202 works for me.
