Hi
Quick question, I need to tax at a post office with new keepers slip
Can I tax without a MOT certificate? As this has been lost, it is MOT'd on Gov.uk

Yes, but why not tax online with V5C/20 -
Tried that but had car on drive past 3 weeks, gov.uk now says the v5c number is incorrect and that I should have or will shortly receive the new V5 by post.
Trip to Post office tomorrow now to tax it, unfortunately.
Pleased that no mot certificate is required or that would of been another £10!0 -
Make sure it's a post office that actually does Car Tax, not all of them do it.

Checked online and have found one that does tax.
Just can someone reconfirm I can tax my car with just the V5c new keeper part at a post offixe without a MOT certificate?
I am worried sick as I need the car to travel and visit someone ill!!
Its on MID and shown as MOT'd, also I have a print out off gov.uk stating its MOT'd0 -

Did they accept it? Interested to know as my local one refused a while ago but then im in northern Ireland and they make everything more complicated for us0

If the tax is bought on Tuesday or Wednesday, there'll be the option to start it from next month.
If the "three weeks" since the purchase is actually just a few days longer, then the change-of-keeper date may be before the 1st September.0
