OP, just out of interest, which website did you use to tell that there were lots of council houses in the area? I'm currently selling my house and am looking to do similar research.
By the way my Mum lives in an ex-council house, she's been there over 20 years now, neighbours have been there even longer, all bought theirs from the council. Same for my grandparents, ex-council, nice quiet area. So as people have said it doesn't necessarily follow that ex-council means a bad area, you can get bad neighbours anywhere.
Street check will give you a whole host of information about a post code.0 -
Bottom line is you either wish to purchase or you don't.
But going to the vendor and trying to reduce the sale price because it's ex council and has council properties in the vicinity is not on. The time for that would have been at offer stage.0 -

Because if it was Northfield OP would not have a problem..0

And how do you know he has a problem? He is more worried about it being an ex council house.
It's all relative whether he would have a problem or not. If you grown up in Winson Green then most places arent going to be a problem.0
