Shame about the contract, I hope they have an opportunity for him soon! That's one thing I really dislike about recruiters - they're always so "this is a sure thing, you're the best!" even if it's not/you're not.

Ahhhhhh!!!! :( That is a pain - both potential employers are recruiters can create problems at times - at least you have the buffer, though :)

Helping to fund 3 through uni at the same time is positively :eek:!!! We'll only ever have 2 at a time (thanks to no planning and large age gaps lol :D) and that's  enough!

Well done on getting rid of the books - and even better on getting money for them:T Am not sure if you have a home office at all - household filing would work there if so? If not, perhaps a cupboard/ shelves/ sideboard in the lounge or dining room? Hard to think of suggestions for a home about which I have no idea! :rotfl: (not that you were asking for suggestions, I was just sticking my oar in! :D)

I've finally conquered my ironing mountain today - it hadn't been cleared for a couple of weeks due to work/ household illness and had taken on epic proportions at times. So nice to have it done (although another load is drying as I type this......!) I do get quite a sense of satisfaction/ achievement when it's all done (But I don't really dislike ironing, tbh!)

I can't make suggestions re the contract and the filing but for ironing can I suggest only buying stretchy clothes! Works a treat!

Oh dear, seem to have been AWOL for a while but am back in action now. Still no joy on the work front for DH but he had an interview today which sounds promising, so fingers crossed for that one.

OCC - stretchy clothes - now that's really thinking outside the box on the ironing discussion. Must see what I can do about that one.

Major improvement on the food budget this week. Menu plan complete and list held carefully in hand gave me a £20 reduction on last week. Only 3 items which weren't actually on the list :rotfl: Not sure how the coming weeks will be though as DS1 and DS2 will be back from Uni eating us out of house and home

Have successfully decluttered part one of my wardrobe - resulting in two bags to the CS, one bag to a work colleague who was organising a fund raising sale, and another pile of DVDs on Music Magpie. Another little contribution to the OP pot and I can actually open the wardrobe door without a whole pile of things falling over or out of the wardrobe - result!

Tilly Tidy growing nicely (March currently at £2.00 exactly so even my Tilly Tidy is Tidy :rotfl:

Home made pizzas for tea tonight. Only DH, DS4 and me as DS3 out at part-time work (funding his gap year and saving for Uni in September). Might play a board game or watch a film - still undecided on that one but it's Friday :T

Set up my mini greenhouse earlier and am preparing for the spring madness of planting. Sold my very old greenhouse earlier this year to make way for a much needed new shed. However am looking forward to making use of bargainatious 4 tiered mini greenhouse with its own little zip up coat to keep those seedling cozy and warm. Will hopefully get into the garden tomorrow once the ferrying around of DS4 is over.

Rather a long ramble, but happy weekend everyone.

Nice jaunt around town this morning with DH - a very rare occurrence. Managed to resist money spending urges - was almost angelic :A - but not quite! Did get a couple of bits and pieces for the garden (cheap liner for hanging basket in the land of the pound) and these were actually needed. And we managed extreme restraint in a lovely antiquey style shop which had some gorgeous furniture. We were rather drooling but managed to escape without a purchase and treated ourselves to a sneaky Co*ta where I had enough points for it to be a freebie :T All in all - a result!!

DS1 and DS2 back from Uni for the Easter hols :easter: So lovely to be all together again. Have to admit though I had forgotten how much would be added to the supermarket shop to keep them all those appetites satisfied  Good job I had vouchers and some emergency fund available :rotfl: The important thing is enjoying a lovely family weekend - don't mind at all going over budget when we are fortunate enough to be all safe together at home :) DH finally has some more work :T phew - sighs of relief all round. Looks like it should be quite long term, so everything crossed for that. I have just started two weeks holiday which I am really looking forward to. However, lots of marking and preparation to do :( Seem to have lots of spending to do. Dishwasher has broken down, car developed a puncture, school trip deposit, two choir trips and the list goes on ......... poor little bank account - it is just about hanging in there, but there seem to be far too many days this month. Hope you all have a lovely bank holiday weekend :):easter_ba

Thanks Greent and GG for your Easter wishes. That was a quick weekend. DS1 and 2 have been and gone again :( Back to the four of us. Booked our summer holiday which was exciting and managed to secure it through TCB which was an added bonus. Checked on the off chance that the travel company would be there and they had a special Easter offer :T Unfortunately when booking the Eurostar tickets, DH used the wrong card and emptied our current account (right at the end of the month when there wasn't much left anyway!). We just avoided incurring charges by doing a very speedy transfer :rotfl: Not much other money news - hanging on in there for the end of the month. Is it just me or is March going on for ever? Lovely to see the sun shining, just off with DS3 and 4 to walk the dog while it lasts :)

Totally agree March is dragging on - I've ended up paying us early by a couple of days - but that'll just mean that April is even longer now!!

Good stuff on the hols - and well done on a speedy transfer :)
