Grrrrr just popped into Bo*ts to buy some new makeup (cannot greet world without a little polyfilla - would be too scary so a justified spend !). Handed over vouchers like a good MFWer, then handed over loyalty card to redeem my points. But was told I couldn't redeem any points because I had already used a voucher  The pay lady (as my DSs used to call them when they were little) wouldn't agree to cancel the transaction and start again, so I had to pay real money  Very disappointed but a lesson learned. However, I did take two purchases back to Next for a refund so some money going in the right direction :rotfl: In my pre MFW days I would have just left those purchases in my wardrobe and never worn them so am pleased with myself for taking them back. Off to hang out the washing, nice and breezy but where has the sunshine gone today?Starting Mortgage 01.08.08 £171,209.24. NSD Sunday. Accompanied DS4 to a choir competition. Nothing to pay, took packed lunch, and afternoon tea and cakes were provided FOC :T A lovely day even if I was helping to supervise 45 under 12s :rotfl: Another NSD today at work. Was up and organised with the packed lunch and water bottle. Did have a coffee with a friend but it was her turn to pay :T Hoping to get home in time to ring the mortgage company tomorrow so I can get the latest balance and make a plan. Two more NDSs Monday and Tuesday. Did have to buy some top up milk and bits for stir fry but that was from food spends so that doesn't count. Also had to pay for piano lesson for DS4, but again that was budgeted for so not counting that either! Still haven't managed to get home in time to ring mortgage people. Will try again today. A flying about evening as had meeting at DS4's school about a forthcoming residential trip. Looked fantastic and balance has been paid. Just some bits and pieces of clothing to get. But will all be cheapies as they will be getting wet and muddy. Email from TCB to say payment on the way - always good news. Had discussion with boss yesterday about possibility of permanent contract but not looking good. Very disappointing but will keep trying. Filling in student finance forms for DS1, DS2 and DS3 !!!! Finally managed to find a slot to ring the mortgage company. Sadly not able to access mortgage account on-line so have to go through the whole phone call rigmarole:(. However, great news as balance yesterday was £44,696.35:j We are under £45K :T Daily interest at £3.10/day :j DH is also hinting that we might be able to make a "chunky" payment soon once business accounts finalised. Thanks Hiddenshadow - I am easily pleased :rotfl:
Was near my local Sainsbobs yesterday, so went armed with a £6 off £40 spend voucher. Stuck to my list, spent £42, scanned my voucher and was told it is "invalid". On speaking to the assistant, she pointed out the small print which said "does not include alcohol" :rotfl: So my bottle of whiskey was not quite as barganious as I thought. However, it was on offer, and everything I purchased was either reduced or a deal so it wasn't a complete disaster. Also the till printed another £6 off £40 spend voucher, so next time I will be more careful. Another lesson learned :rotfl:Starting Mortgage 01.08.08 £171,209.24. Not quite a NSD as had to buy an emergency birthday card, but found a really lovely 29p bargain in town so that hardly counts! Decluttered one of the drawers in my bed and found about 20 carrier bags left over from Christmas. I usually stuff them in the drawer when I am wrapping gifts and leave them there "just in case" anything needs to be returned. I think it is now safe to recycle them :rotfl: Also sorted out one drawer in my chest of drawers. I can't believe the weird things I found in there; 5 different screw on lids attached to nothing, a empty box that once contained pens, two empty moisturisers, some broken elastic bands and a dead battery :rotfl: What planet am I on !! However did find my step counter thingy so clipped it on and have managed 6530 steps today :T I also keep nipping upstairs to smugly open and close my newly organised drawer. (Note to self: get out more!). Tomorrow I am also planning to investigate the Tesco current account for the 3% interest it pays. It seems on first read that you don't need to pay in a fixed amount or set up DDs. However, need to go and read properly now. First lie in on a Sunday tomorrow in what seems like ages - so really looking forward to that. Will probably wake at 5.30 like I did this morning :rotfl:Starting Mortgage 01.08.08 £171,209.24. Wow where do the days go? Busy time at work, and racing from pillar to post with the DSs. Contacted Student Loans company as paid back some student loan even though I am under the earnings threshold. Result, £200 should be winging its way back to me very soon. Some from this tax year and some from last tax year as I have only just discovered that you could claim it back. Wonder how many other people aren't aware they have to claim it back!! Also received a cheque from TalkTa** as we changed internet provider some months ago. Again, DH just happen to come across an old email which stated you had to contact them to claim the money. Another £25 in the OP potStarting Mortgage 01.08.08 £171,209.24.
