For security reasons, that probably isn't a question that should be answered on a public forum.

    Good point.

Nevertheless if anyone can explain it without giving a leg up to potential fraudsters I would like to have an answer to the mystery. Particularly if that helps others avoid being similarly caught. I guess not having a CC registered to one's Amazon account helps.

OK. However, the order never appeared in my account so there was no suggesion that anyone had actually signed in to my account. Nevertheless the order existed in Amazon's system with my email address and was charged to my CC. And the same seems to have been the case for sangie595.

Any insight into how that could happen?

I can't really give an insight in to how it could have happened to be totally honest with you.

Might sound like a daft question but did you check your account for hidden orders?

If you go to Your Account - View Hidden Orders - it should show you if that's why it's not showing in your main list of orders.

No, nothing in Hidden Orders or Cancelled Orders.

Something similar has just happened to me. Order for a phone placed via amazon.fr and then the person has emailed the seller in Milan to ask them to post it to an address in Belfast. I caught it all too late and am now trying to speak to amazon in France to get a refund. They are misunderstanding everything I say! Meanwhile I have contacted the seller in Milan to ask DHL to stop the delivery. TSB have cancelled card, and will refund me eventually if Amazon do not. I've changed the Amazon password, deleted saved card details. Anything else I can do?

I can't understand how this has happened, glad I managed to cancel the order of a watch from Germany though.
  • I think, it's happened by mistake. Some one type the wrong email address, when he is ordering. So don't need to worry about it.
