The Virgin 0% Con
Just started a new TV/Broadband/Phone deal with Virgin, moving house so new customer.
Whilst I was sorting it I am after the new iPhone (probably through Vodafone as get NHS discount of 20%).
Interestingly the guy tells me that Virgin do 0% on iPhones, so you just have a tariff with them, that you can chop and change and pay off the phone if you like. I am definitely a geek when it comes to phones and do like something shiny and new, so did a few quick sums and Total Cost of Ownership was very competitive.
Vodafone = £1055.80 (24 months)
Virgin = ( £619 / 24 ) + ( £15 x 24) = £979
Yeah... except they are charging £816 for a phone that retails at £619!
For me that's completely deceptive.

It's not decpetive, it 0% on their price, as a buyer you should look around for the offers that suit your pocket and needs most.
Also be aware often it is yesterday's handsets on VM via VM.0 -
Don't compare with Vodafone... Probably the worst network in the UK.0

No issue with Vodafone, new device does pretty much 30Mb/20Mb most places I visit regularly and never had issues with dropped calls, suppose coverage varies.
I feel it is deceptive to show your main benefit as being 0% whilst hiking the retail price so dramatically.0 -
