Jet 2 compensation cheques

I received compensation for a delayed flight from Jet 2 but they sent me two cheques. The first cheque was for three out of the four passengers (me and my two daughters) and was payable to me. The second cheque was made payable to my daughter's friend that came away with us. I booked and paid for all of the holiday/flights. Jet 2 are refusing to re-issue the cheque so that it is payable to me. They say that they have to issue the cheque to the person that travelled. I have pointed out to them that this is obviously not true as my daughter's didn't receive separate cheques from them. Where do I stand on this? Any ideas how I can get them to re-issue the cheque?

I am pretty sure the compensation is due to the passenger rather than the person who paid for the flights. Give her the cheque and wish her well. If she chooses to re-reimburse you for your generosity well and good.0

Thanks but what I don't understand is why my daughters didn't get cheques. At the time of the holiday they were all under 18. Surely the inconsistancy means they should re-issue the cheque?0

Maybe because they had different surnames? But it doesn't change the clear advice above - the compensation for the other girl isn't yours.0

You were in loco parentis to your daughters, but not their friend. Theoretically, airlines could issue one cheque per claimant for adults.0

because somebody in Easyjet thread seemingly couldn't use the search function to query about named cheques. Can't make it too easy for themIf you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide
