I've got a situation coming up which means spending more money, as oppose to paying off my credit cards - my landlord wants the house back to renovate so I have to find somewhere else to live... So moving costs and possibly an increase in rent or travel costs to work or gym, or increase in gym costs if I can't find somewhere nearby.
I moved here only a year ago and wanted to stay a bit longer before I moved, which is really annoying! My previous places I've lived in I have been there for 2.5-3 years before moving.0 -
There's no such thing as a quiet month! I agree that there is nothing more important than your children so you've definitely done the right thing.
I think an emergency fund is the way forward...getting it together is difficult though!Just when I'm about to make ends meet, somebody moves the ends0 -
Our bed broke on Monday, as my wife is disabled she has to have a special bed, so until our new one arrives we are having to rent a specialist bed at £30 a day!0

Gosh that seems hideously expensive. Sorry to hear that. Do you know how long you might be waiting?" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

I hate unexpected costs
My car died last month, it was so old, it only went for £55 scrap metal and then I had to PAY £75 to cancel my insurance
I had just built up a little savings aswell, then boom, its gone!

We got stung with an insurance cancellation fee too when our car, which we'd only had for 6 months although it was about 10 years old, developed a terrible oil leak that we had a quote for around £900 to fix, plus the garage weren't even sure that would be the end of the costs. As the car only cost £1600 we cut our losses but as we'd borrowed the cash it was a horrible lesson to learn. So we had no money for a new car. Plus had to pay off the money. And then the insurance told us we'd have to pay to cancel. Yuck and yuck. We've been car free through choice for over a year now. Horrid expensive things!" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D
