Received PPI letter from Littlewoods

Options
I just received a letter from shop direct regarding my account i had with them from 2004 to 2009.

It says the have identified some specific failings in their sales practice when i got the account, they say we wish to offer you a full refund of premiums paid for insurance and applicable charges, it also goes on to say it the amount of redress may not be a trivial amount.

I had contacted them about this in 2013 and was told sorry its too late, i know i paid the premiums every month on the account. I called them yesterday she said it will take 8 weeks to look into it, I now live in Canada and calling the 1800 number for me is really expensive, authorized my mum to deal with it .

Has anyone got a letter like this?

I also asked for a SARS in 2013 they sent it but it only went back to 2008 saying thats all they had , but they managed to dig up my signed agreement from 2004 when i opened the account!

  • I received one for an account I've had since the mid nineties. First off I called Littlewoods to confirm it was a genuine letter from them & not just a scam. The CE dept confirmed it had sent the letter so I called the freephone number. I was told I will receive a letter with the findings of my case & the total amount of my refund within 8 weeks. They took my preferred contact details just in case they needed to speak to me about it. I've never previously contacted them about PPI.
  • i called they said they will investigate and let me know the outcome , i asked my mum to deal with it the time difference is a pain for me call!

Hope its something to get excited about!
  • Any contact details for these people, please!!

I just received a letter about 2 weeks ago saying they are now going forward with a complaint and they have 8 weeks to reply, with a final response which will include confirmation of refund.

I had a fair few issues as I no longer live in England I moved to Canada 4 years ago so even though I called them when I got the first letter, they said it sat there as they couldn't confirm my address even though I has sent them the info on my address.

Do be aware that there is no guarantee you will receive a refund, although the fact that they wrote to you is certainly cause for optimism.

Yes optimism for a refund! i asked them for a SARS in 2013 they really gave me nothing as they said they had nothing from when i first opened the account in 2004 so not sure what their calculating from.
As i write this I got a message from my mum in England the refund is $14.97 (Pounds)!! lol
