BA claiming for family member

Hi, I am preparing a claim to British Airways for compensation for a cancelled flight. I am claiming for both myself and my son who were passengers listed on one booking. The BA website states that one can claim for up to 6 passengers on the same booking on the same journey, however they also say that you have to have the same surname. As this is the case with me and my son (different surnames) I wish to find out if this is the case.

How BA deal with claims is up to them. Airlines like to make awkward. Jet2 asked me to submit claims individually for all my family members even though they were minors and for my wife in her maiden name. So I took them to court .

In a court claim you can add both names to the same claim.

You could point that out to them, and that you are related but have different names and that it's not an unusual situation. And if your son is under 18 they are being unreasonable if they don't let you claim on his behalf as he may not have the means to accept payment.
