Is there any minimum time to hold a bank account before you switch?
Has or would anyone switch a bank account they had just held for less than week to get a switching bonus elsewhere?

1) Not unless the T&C of the particular account specify a minimum time

Yes I have done this - opened a new current account online and on day 5 (had to wait this long to receive the debit card in the post and activate it) switched it no problems.I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards. I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly, and I can move and merge threads there. Any views are mine and not the official line of moneysavingexpert.com0 -
It could cost you and a friend £100 each if the account you want to switch is a Nationwide account you just switched to over the last week.
