Aye any dedicated optical cleaner.
I use either glasses wipes (the ones that come individually wrapped in a box*), a pentax cloth and squirty bottle of spray or just the cloth that comes with them and my breath.
Never use anything like fairy liquid or kitchen roll as they are both intended to work party by being abrasive.
*I tend to keep a small stash of them in the car, and a couple in my coat pocket.0 -
Why waste money on that, I have heard that hairspray is good for removing the coating... roflmao..
Good tip BTW.C_Mababejive wrote: »Just a note to say that if you have plastic lenses and the anti reflection coating is wearing off it places, you can easily restore them by stripping off the anti reflective/anti scratch coating using armor etch (google). I can vouch for it as i restored a pair of my specs using this to strip off the coating. Do not use on glass as it will ruin them !
Use with care..read the insructions, wear gloves, wear eye protection. I did mine in about 15 mins,,

I donlt wear my specs when sparaying hair sparay and, if I have them on, my hairdresser shields my specs before sparaying it.0

The coating wore off my husbands specs and he definitely doesn't wear hairspray.
We took them back to Asda and they replaced the coating.:hello:  please play nicely children !0 -
I was really annoyed that my optician (Boots) entirely failed to warn me that sitting on my glasses could damage them.0

the best i ever had was about 15 years ago, a customer who's reading glasses i had fitted a week previously, came back in with an out of shape twisted, shrunken plastic frame with both lenses crazed and misty. apparently it was my fault as i had advised not putting washing up liquid on to the lenses - so she put them in the dishwasher to clean them:eek:
The joys of optics!Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0 -
I learnt some years ago that hairspray melted both my hearing aids!
WHAT?

The other extreme - I recently bought a steam generator iron whose instruction book solemnly counselled me, in bold caps DO NOT IRON CLOTHES WHILST WEARING THEM.
I had a lucky escape.0 -
