In July 2009 two of us travelled to San Francisco with British Airways. We were held on the tarmac for 5 hours due to a fault with the air conditioning system. We were kept informed and given drinks and snacks. Coming back we were up-graded.
After such a long time we could not remember the flight number or the exact time of the flight, but thought it was worth making a claim, which we did by letter. A reminder was required, but eventually we received £800 compensation.
