Well I had a much better night. Only woke twice briefly and then straight through till 6. Feel like a new woman. Amazing how much sleep can affect your mood. And other people's choice of behaviour I suppose
Glad you had a better night Bob. I was so cross to hear about how that teacher spoke to you yesterday

DNMS - Wombling work, thanks for asking I work for a recycling charity and also deliver those love food hate waste, reduce and reuse messages for our area too. Work from home one day a week, mainly online now but was running several projects for them before I left. Its really interesting work and makes me feel like a real womble. Aside that I work in a garden propagating and doing some training.nice of you to ask. xx
sounds interesting! Sadly can't take the credit for the inquiry though Pippi! I think it was Bob who asked yesterday? xMorning to everyone
Bob - So glad to 'hear' you sounding bright & breezy this morning! After the episode at the school yesterday, I thought you might have had a bad night. Your son sounds a little star - he well deserves the onsie so I hope you're the successful bidder. You mentioned yesterday that you've never had a migraine. I only started getting them 10 years ago - the rest of the family all suffer but I don't know why I should get them now. One of life's many mysteries! My head got better as the day wore on yesterday, but my eyes have just started with the stars & flashing lights so it seems that I'm off again. I've got a dental appointment this morning, but I don't want to cancel it unless there's no alternative.
CCL - Hope you feel better soon.
Foxgloves - Glad to hear your Dad is on the mend.
I've just been pureeing some damsons & taking out those horrible little stones to make some damson fool. Never tried it with damsons but can't see that it won't be any less yummy than made with any other fruit. Still just as fattening!
I spotted some blackberries on my early morning dog walk. I will go back later to pick some (migraine permitting). I had nothing with me to get them earlier, other than a scented doggie bag! Wrestling with a lively dog while trying to pick fruit isn't a good idea anyway!
Well - I need a quick coffee then it's off to scrub my teeth before the dentist.
Have a good day!
K
I really feel for you kayannie. Over the last 2 years I have been getting silent migraines (just the disturbed vision (aura)) not a full on headache migraine. They are horrid though as I stop being able to see big chunks of my vision and have flashing squiggly lines around my field of vision. They don't last very long (have discovered if I take a couple of paracetamol as soon as it comes on they go quite quickly. Just then I have a tightness in my head, feel weak and exhausted and also my vision/perception is slightly altered for a couple of hours afterwards.
I just had such a shock as I took dgd to a woods in the next town for a play group and one came on  I freaked out (inwardly) as I can't drive unless I can see and despite toddlers being known for their unending patience (:rotfl:) I was freaking out about how I was going to be able to wait for it to go while trying to occupy dgd. Luckily it went within 10 minutes but feeling a little fragile nowgoing to just rest and put on some tv for dgd and hope the weird feeling goes quickly...

So was typing up my post and had to re-start the computer so lost itgrr!!
Bob - so sorry to hear that, reading it made me upset for youat least he is getting exercise which is more than what most children do! And how does she know if you have a car or not, it's none of her business!! I don't know you personally but from what I've heard you're a brilliant mum and don't let people like that get you down! Big hugs!!
Ally - Stop Breathe Think is another good app that I got on my phone a while ago for relaxation and it's free too
CLL - hope you feel better soon!!
Dawn - cakes and scones!! Making me feel hungry!!
Today's the day!! We've got our keys to our new homeI can't wait to move in. I'm popping there this evening to give it a quick once over, hoover up and clean everything ( I should imagine this has been done but want it doing to my standards!!)
Here's what I'm gonna do/done today:
- Get keys to new house
- Check FPL (and change address)
- Get broadband for new house (PO seems to be the cheapest)
- Read Martin's email
- Go to new house and check everything and tidy if needed
- Someone coming to pick up clothes I sold on Splock (SP) app from old house
- Take essentials over to new house so ready when we get there (loo roll, kettle etc)
- Breakfast from stores
- Dinner at mums
- Pack last minute bits
Think that is about it, gonna be a spend spend spend day today and tomorrow I think!!Read my diaryHere0 -
kayannie As a teenager I suffered from Migraines. Had to be in complete darkness for a whole day at least, no tablets touched it and the slightest noise or movement would bring the most intense pain. That was a awful time. Then one day they just vanished! Never appeared since.
Struggling to get online at the weekends, just so much going on!

Hi everyone,
It's been a little while since I've posted. I got the deposit back on my flat (minus the £40) and all the various refunds from utilities etc. Still waiting to hear from council tax so will give them a ring.
I had some unexpected news from my personal loan provider - they're knocking £375 off my loan which was the interest over a year and a bit because they hadn't informed me about something to do with the CCA. I'm waiting for another letter to clarify what my final payments will be, but it should be paid off in March now rather than May!
I still decided not to pay it off in full with my deposit money - some has gone into savings and the rest on wedding-related payments. We did a spreadsheet the other day for wedding expenses.... So far we've paid for the venue/ save the dates/ honeymoon, put a deposit down on a routemaster bus (the wedding venue and reception are 12 miles apart and the reception doesn't have easy parking). We've also provisionally booked the photographer and hotel to stay in the evening before/ of the wedding. My extra hours at work start next month - I'm still hopeful we can pay for everything and have no debt after the wedding
Yesterday I had my first mince pie courtesy of Mr S - only 92 days to go! :snow_laug Saving for presents has been budgeted into next month's budget.
Back to today:

Hi JoJo - obviously you will know your setup best but I recently changed current accounts. I decided to leave my piggybank accounts with the previous provider open. I found that, for me, it's even better for keeping the money separate and for tracking the movement of money. It is a bit more fiddly though because I have to use two apps.LBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.310 -
Hi,
Thanks all those who have sent kind wishes re Dad. He's sounding a bit perkier & now the horrendous admin problems around his hospital discharge seem to have been sorted out, he's getting the appropriate support.
Bob - There's just me & my sister. Neither of us live near Mum & Dad. I'm up in the North East bit of the Midlands & she's down in London. We're managing ok at the moment though. Sorry about your upset last night. What a way to speak to you! I like to see children cycling or walking to school. Far too many 4-wheel drives & 'Chelsea tractors' dropping kids off at the gates when they are only a tiny distance away. Much better & greener to walk or cycle. It could have been so much better handled by just nicely suggesting your son has a spare jumper in his bag if he's cycled on a wet day, no need for snottiness.
DNMS & Kayannie - I've also had those weird migraines with the flashing lights or 'aura' as I believe it's called. Very worrying when it starts. I haven't had one for a few years now, & I did start to notice a pattern with when they came on. It was always when Id been stressed & hadn't drunk or eaten enough, making my blood sugar too low. My Mum gets them too, & my sister, but she's the only one who gets the aura together with a crippling headache. I just got the aura. I used to get horrendous headaches (hormones, I should think!) but never with the weird flashes & zig-zags. I always make sure I have some dried fruit or similar in my bag in case I am late eating, as it would be very difficult to drive with the full fireworks going on.
Better get my lit done now.....

And after that woffle......here is today's list of money-saving.
Actually, there's been money-spending too, today, but I shall concentrate on the good stuff:
*Paid some transferred money from our Savings Piggies into bank account so as to be able to pay Car Tax & re-emburse my CC with an emergency spend from last week.
*A wodge of Toluna points had been added over night, so I claimed my next payment (Sainsbury's giftcard - £15). Did the quick votes before logging out to start my self off for the next one.
*Made a tiny PAD of £1.15 into Car Fund. It was an oddment in bank account. Now it has an important role in our Car Fund & may even pay for 1mm of wing mirror or something, lol!
*Picked 2 big homegrown ripe red peppers which are in the cauldron with homegrown tomatoes, garlic & a load of other stuff cooking up into chutney. Kitchen smells lovely. Cat no impressed, think the vinegar smell gets into his fur. Recycled jars warming in oven. Will be bottling as soon as I've signed off.
*Chunky handknitted purple cardi from charity shop this morning - £2.99. The buttons alone are worth more than that. Perhaps somebody knitted it then didn't like it? I like it, so it has a new adoptive home.
*Large bag of yellow-stickered filled pasta found lurking at Co-op £1.30 - bought that for freezer. Will do quick cheap meal one night when we have to go straight out & haven't got time to fanny about.
*Made granary bread in BM.
*Made bread rolls - they are going in the oven as soon as I've bottled the chutney, which I must do now, as I can tell it's going to stick if I leave it much longer.
*One lot of bath water = 2 baths. Why should the energy company have any more of my money than I need to pay them?
OK, bottling time, have a nice evening all. Hope poorly folk soon pick up.
