Wednesday 23rd September - What small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free!
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending!
So be proud of those small steps, they really important! :money:
Morning
Been up an hour so thought I'd get us cracking!
Have decided I need to limit the things I need to do to a couple a day rather than a great long list I never get through! So with that in mind today I will:
* checked banking & received £11.30 interest :T
* will read martin's email
* had a problem with the ms report I needed to submit yesterday. Sent an email so am hoping they come back to me this morning so I can submit it. It's worth £19 to me so frustrated that there was a problem (again!)
* try to do an hour's wallpaper stripping
* all meals from stores - need to get something out of the freezer
* onepoll and try to get through a backlog of surveys
* LSD just taking dgd to a play session - £4
* free activities with dgd this afternoon
* go through paperwork for ms assignment tomorrow
* hula hoop x 10 minutes x 2
* text friend's about get together tomorrow and what I should bring (going to one friend's house and having nibbles and drinks
* text another friend who texted me over a week ago!
* water plants in greenhouse
* list a load of things on fleabay tonight
Ok that's loads already! Have a great day x

Good morning DNMS - and all who follow - thanks for starting us off.
I have woken up in the full grip of manful this morning, after a restless night of sleep. I don't feel like going to do a full day of teaching and book marking followed by a meeting after work. But needs must - I have to try and get my lessons covered for next week so I can go to this funeral. And it is only a cold - no matter how I feel.
Today's listcheck banking
read Martin's email
try and post these letters I didn't get round to doing yesterday
full day of teaching
mark a set of books
go on a begging mission to get my lessons covered next Wednesday
drink lots of water
stay dosed up with paracetamol
do NOT stress
load of washing
15 mins housework and declutter, if I can be bothered later
Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Morning all
Thanks for starting the thread DNMS
Hope you are ok CCL. I remember teaching while feeling awful with a cold and it was not fun
Grandma day today, baby GD will be arriving shortly so I must get dressed in a minute or won't have the chance :rotfl:
Modest list today -so far I have put a couple of cakes in the oven for a Macmillan coffee morning event on Friday (the shop I rent space in does a big one for customers / anyone each time)
Also cleared up after puppy, whose house training is considerably better at night than during the day for some reason!
Modest list today, but I will:
Make a batch of scones Done - baby ate two :rotfl:
HM meals from stores Done
Any surveys (later when baby is asleep, or after her Mum has picked her up) few for onepoll
Load of washing to hopefully be dried outside still in the machine
Gardening, feeding ducks and looking for puddles with DGD Done
Indoor activities in case it rains (washing up is a favourite :rotfl:) Saved the last bit of scone dough which got played with for ages, and some eaten :rotfl:
Made a loaf in the bread maker :T
Right, better get on!
Hope everyone has a nice day0 -
Morning All
Thanks for the start Determined. And your very kind words on yesterday's thread. I actually said 'nice' out loud when I read about your interest arriving, I love unexpected money
CCL -you sound like you have more than a cold. Could you not get cover? If you don't stop when you are ill then surely that's worse for them as you could end up off longer? Good luck getting through it today.
Morning Dawn
LegoMum - from yesterday's thread. Wow on the cashmere sweater bargain! & for 'helping' son to find his lost cash. They do need to learn the value of money these children don't they. I haven't been able to locate the shoes on the Argos mobile site and suspect they may have pulled them from general sale. Boo. But I will check on the full desk top site when I get home tonight.
Well I had a much better night. Only woke twice briefly and then straight through till 6. Feel like a new woman. Amazing how much sleep can affect your mood. And other people's choice of behaviour I suppose
Have a good day everyone.

Washing already done on 30, out on line in a minute. Might do another to catch up before were away
Leaving hair to dry naturally aka I've run out of time
Tea from freezer, still stretching last butchers shop. Will not do next order until early oct now :T
Think that's all. Have a good day everyone0 -
Morning all,
Quick check in then I'll try and catch up on the posts!
Thanks to DNMS for starting us off.
Hugs to Bob and anyone else who needs them
Bit of a bad plan last night. I didn't get out of my meeting at work until 7pm (it started at 3!!!). Got home and OH said we should go for dinner. Had a couple of glasses of wine that went STRAIGHT to my head and feel rather worse for wear today.
Onwards and upwards today though.- Charge phone in work
- B/D from stores. Not alive enough to contemplate making lunch today *shame*
- Check online banking and reconcile spreadsheet
- Book hotel room in London for this weekend (not mse unfortunately) - crystal palace Travelodge. Not too bad - a London room on a sat night for under £100. At least you know what you're getting with a Travelodge.
- Vax rugs in our room
- NO BOOZE
Have a good one all

Morning to everyone
Bob - So glad to 'hear' you sounding bright & breezy this morning! After the episode at the school yesterday, I thought you might have had a bad night. Your son sounds a little star - he well deserves the onsie so I hope you're the successful bidder. You mentioned yesterday that you've never had a migraine. I only started getting them 10 years ago - the rest of the family all suffer but I don't know why I should get them now. One of life's many mysteries! My head got better as the day wore on yesterday, but my eyes have just started with the stars & flashing lights so it seems that I'm off again. I've got a dental appointment this morning, but I don't want to cancel it unless there's no alternative.
CCL - Hope you feel better soon.
Foxgloves - Glad to hear your Dad is on the mend.
I've just been pureeing some damsons & taking out those horrible little stones to make some damson fool. Never tried it with damsons but can't see that it won't be any less yummy than made with any other fruit. Still just as fattening!
I spotted some blackberries on my early morning dog walk. I will go back later to pick some (migraine permitting). I had nothing with me to get them earlier, other than a scented doggie bag! Wrestling with a lively dog while trying to pick fruit isn't a good idea anyway!
Well - I need a quick coffee then it's off to scrub my teeth before the dentist.
Have a good day!

Morning all - just a quick check in to keep me on track, hope you're all doing well :-)
To do today:
- go to the gym
- fill out some surveys
- carry on with my paid psychology experiment. (It's getting a bit tedious now so I will definitely have earned my £40 by the end!!!)
- enter some competitions
- eat the lunch I've brought to work with me (which is porridge and banana as I was very unimaginative this morning!)
- make Dinner from the freezer/cupboard (yellow sticker pie, mash with the slightly pass their best potatoes and veggies)
- read the MSE email
- check in at the supermarket on the way home for any yellow sticker bargainsStarted DMP with stepchange - Feb 2016 Self Managed - October 2016
