Premier Inn - Worst experiance ever

Options
I recently stayed in a premier inn, I used their adjoining beefeater restaurant and unfortunately it left me with food poisoning and a sleepless night! I attempted to claim a refund with their 'good night guarentee' but theyve rejected it, claiming that its unrelated to premier inn... err hello... its your restaurant and part of the same business (Whitbread Family).

I need some advice on this as the 'good night guarentee' is clearly a myth and a con?

Their foor directly effected my night sleep - I didnt get a wink and I was terribly unwell all night with stomach pains and unpredictable bowels...

please someone help me out to get some compensation for this ordeal...

You should be aware that food poisoning doesn't usually come on that quickly if you mean you were ill the night of your meal (though it can do), it's equally likely it was something you ate earlier or one or two days before.

As above, it would be unlikely (though not impossible) that food poisoning would come on so quickly.

The good night guarantee is very generous, but relates to the room not the restaurant. If the room had given you food poisoning they'd have refunded you ;)

Your complaint is with Beefeater not the sister company

do you have any proof that the food at the beefeater gave you food poisoning?

has the suspect food been tested?

I've stayed in Premier Inns on many occasions and only ever had a problem once at their Glasgow Charing Cross hotel.

When they took over the hotel from whoever owned it before they took a while to replace all the beds and as such we ended up in a room with a small double bed instead of the advertised king sized bed. My husband is quite tall and slept with his feet hanging a foot off the end of the bed! He jokingly mentioned it when asked in the morning if he had slept well and they refunded the room price straight away and apologised profusely so it's not a con.

Contact the Beefeater restaurant ASAP as they will need to isolate any food from the sdame batch you ate for testing. Also contact the local environmental health dept if it was definately food poisoning.

The fact you slept badly due to illness does not entitle you to a refund from Premier Inn. You need to get the restaurant to investigate the food that made you ill.

Nope, not a con. We stayed in a central London Premier Inn and both nights there was a quiet alarm going off around 3am. One of our party is a light sleeper and was woken up both nights, result being two free nights.

My wife got given a room at a Premier Inn that someone had been smoking in and it stank. Whilst the hotel did their best to sort it out including some big machine that sucks air out of the room, it still wasn't the best and there were no other rooms. So she made a claim on good night guarantee and got her money back.
  • As Jon81UK has said, plus, go to your GP. If they suspect food poisoning they will take a stool sample for testing. If it is diagnosed as food poisoning, this is a Notifiable Illness, and the EHO will be informed. The parent company of Premier Inn and Beefeater is Whitbread PLC. Though P.Inn and Beefeater are entirely separate businesses.
  • I claimed once for a night in a Premier Inn in Glasgow. I was situated next to a very noisy lift and it kept me awake all night. No problem with the guarantee they refunded me right away and my friend who was in the room next door!
