I really really really hate the new look, and can't seem to get the old look forum back again, which I could do last week. Help please!

Do we get a choice?
If I'm signed out and visit the forum it is completely different to the one I use when signed in?
Is there a setting somewhere which changes things?0 -
Two possible ways.
(1) ---> Manage Version
and click save.
(2) ---> Edit Options
See if you have this option under Miscellaneous. You may or may not depending how and when you were switched.
Select that option above and click save at the bottom of the page.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Thanks,
I can see now why the OP wanted to revert back.
Be interesting to know what % use the old compared with new?0 -
It's sad really, as MSE started off quite well on the redesign when they first did it. Unfortunately they didn't really take on board the feedback received from normal users, so it's gone live in a rather embarrassing state and has great usability problems.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

A further point. I live in a connectivity notspot. Sometimes, in desperation, I'll venture some miles into Central Library. Only the new site appears and it is completely unresponsive when I attempt to log in, never accepts any posts.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

For some while I have been working between two machines, one is running the old forum layout , the second is the new version . I have to say the user experience between the two bears no comparison, the old is pleasant the new is abysmal. Was it designed by Banksy as part of his Dismaland entry-level anarchism theme.You scullion! You rampallian! You fustilarian! I’ll tickle your catastrophe (Henry IV part 2)0

Yes, it would.
But since new users are now put onto the new version automatically, it might be more interesting to know the figures prior to that - i.e. how many long-term users have voluntarily moved over to the new system.
And how many users who got put on the new system 'accidentally' decided that they needed to switch back to the old one.0 -
The new design is the Windows 8 of the forum world. For a start why have an 80x80 avatar upload when you are going to cut must of that off using a circle.
The mind boggles.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -
I stay signed in and it then stays on the old version0
