3D secure - verified by visa and refunds to debit card

I've got a couple of questioons and hope this is the right forum to post in as it releates to general banking.

3D secure / verified by visa
Usually, this goes through okay, but I understand it sometimes would ask for more details. Is it unusal for it to ask for full sort code and account number te card relates to?

Refunds back to debit cards are usually behind the scenes and straightforward. Has anyone ever been asked to confirm the CVV code?

Don't know how usual it is as AFAIK this is up to the bank, not Visa Mastercard, but neither is a top secret.

When a merchant refunds money back to a card regardless if it went through verified by visa or any other verification, It just goes back to the bank account. There is no more details or questions, And banks wont ask to confirm CVV code either for a refund.

Not sure why you would ask such questions unless your up to something dodge??

What makes you think I'm 'up to something dodge'?

I'm asking the question as I was asked for this this morning for a refund over the phone. He only wanted the last four digits of the card I paid with and CVV, so maybe this is normal for an insurance company?

I just find it strange that they would ask for full details. Should really be certain digits and / or values from your DOB?
