Good morning everyone :hello:
Waving here from a very wet and grey North Devon. I am going to have to put the light back on as it's so gloomy today. I am very excited though as my best friend's daughter is visiting me today with her new baby boy. I am so looking forward to cuddles and sniffing his head for that new baby smell. I am doing a cream tea for us too so will be having a very light breakfast to compensate.
Max has been fine since the other day thankfully. The girls are taking it in turns to take him out for a quick walk before they go to school and then he gets a proper walk once hubby has come home from work. This seems to be enough to keep him amused along with more toys than a toddler owns. He destroyed a supposedly indestructable ball yesterday though so any recommendations would be great.
I am making curry tonight with the leftover chicken from yesterday and the girls will have pasta bake. I am hoping to stretch the chicken to a pie tomorrow as well, truly it will be a rubber chicken if I can manage it. The house is still fairly tidy so not much needs doing and the washing is caught up with.
Hope you all have a great day despite the weather, take care xx0 -
Morning ((((((((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))))))))) if you need one.
It has rained overnight, so I am glad I stripped the bed yesterday, its all waiting for me to be in the mood to iron it. I hate Ironing duvet covers, especially kingsize ones!!
Visit to town today, I have an appointment at the hearing clinic my hearing aid appears to have stopped working, then OH has his INR. so a good 3 hours out after lunch.
Monday clean to do, it is much quicker here, wonder if its because I do not have to go upstairs??? Bathroom, toilet and 2 bedrooms take about 45 minutes.
Read the electric meter this morning, I expected the reading to be up, we have had the fire on in the bedroom for an hour when we go to bed and also the heater in the bathroom, but the reading was actually lower than last week...strange. It will go up soon enough when I put the storage heater on.
I am trying to find a way of putting a curtain on the front door, there is no wooden rail over the door as in the kitchen, I do not want to go to the expense of buying a portiere rod and having it fixed to the UPVC front door, the door fits snugly to the walls so there is very little room to draw a curtain back.....Hmmmmm might have to seal the front door for the winter. We do not use it, shopping etc come round to the kitchen door at the back and because of muckying the carpet we also enter and exit by the back door and leave our shoes on a mat when we come in.0 -
Good Morning everyone, oh so lovely to be home again and sleeping in MY bed! we didn't wake up until almost 8 this morning, magic! He Who Knows has headed off to the allotment before the rain arrives and I'm making split pea and ham soup and sorting out the house today. He did a good tidying job while I was away but mens tidying not mine!

Morning all.
I am typing this from the comfort of my bed. I'm determined not to get up until I have to even though the house needs a damned good clean.
The funeral on Friday went well. Aunties son did her proud. All monies in Leu of flowers was to be collected and donated to her favourite charity.. The dogs trust. She loved her canine friends. A comment was made of part of her eulogy about her love of chocolate and how she showed her love to people by bombarding them with chocolate, cakes and sweets as soon as they set foot in the house. As a lovely gesture every mourner was presented with a small box of Thornton's chocolate as they left the service.
Shortly after my husband and myself left for an overnight stay in Prestatyn. We didn't get there till 6 and weren't really there long enough to make use of the facilities. There was a gym, pool, sauna and a jacuzzi. We ate in the restaurant. The food was excellent. The room was beautiful...but too many mirrors for me. I've lost a bit of weight lately and caught sight of my bingo wings *shudder*. The weather was lovely and we took a couple of walks across the beach.
Home on Saturday where we had our Grandson overnight. Yesterday was food shopping day and last night I spent 6 hours with my Mum. Her health is good but she was in a bad way with the dementia. She attacked my brothers girlfriend who was trying to help her. She attacked the carers too. Her hallucinations were pretty bad. I was fortunate, she didn't attack me. She seems to know not attack me although I got pretty close. She watched the X Factor for a time and seemed to enjoy it for a time.
I've had to have words with 'Youngest'. He tells me things but as I told him yesterday. I might be his friend but I'm his Mum as well. I'm hearing and seeing things on his social media I don't approve of. He is pushing the boundaries he set up for himself ages ago and he needed a reminder of what they were.
Just housework to do today.
Onwards and forwards,

Laura - Chin up lovey, you will find some sort of routine soon. I think I missed why you gave up your allotment?...
Thanks all who've sent hugs and kind thoughts. I'll be less whiney soon!
Camelot - My Lottie was an hour from home. I heard in May that I'm going to be offered a plot at a site 10 mins from home but don't know when beyond 'it shouldn't be too long.' Anyway, I didn't want to pay another year's rent on the plot I'd be leaving so gave notice that I'd be leaving on the 1st Sunday in October which is when the rent falls due. Went up a few days later and found things ... umm ... not as I had left them. I'd had four break ins in 18 months and this was the final straw so I left immediately. Am completely lost without it.
Did go back to bed this morning but up now and ready to start my list.Household: Laura + William-cat

So have now got off bottom and done stuff.
Washed and dressed.
House tidied.
Cat litter bought and brought home with help of mother (too heavy to carry up road so she brought the car round).
Lunch (HM bread with HM onion soup made with onions what I growed myself - Lottie is gone but not forgotten)
Rejigged list to use the rest of the day wisely.
This afternoon I shall:
See if I can renew my overdue library books. If not I'll walk down and exchange them.
Tackle the paperwork mountain.
Do a bit from the FlyLady thread (I really like working through lists)
Do a bit of Winter Prep checklist ('cause I really like working through lists and it makes me feel warm and safe)
See you soonHousehold: Laura + William-cat

Afternoon all
I finished work at 2, dropped off a set of plastic drawers with DD, for DGS to keep his school books in.
Filled the car up with fuel & then went to feed DS's cats.
Hubby will be finishing about 8ish so I'll collect him then.
He booked our holiday for next year, a week on a narrow boat, lovely.
Nice to see you DG.
Have a good day everyone.

Good afternoon chums,I had a good sort out of the veg in the fridge and made a veggie curry with the 'past its best stuff' well say made,
I chopped up some cauliflower florets that have been in a bowl of water in the fridge, added some wrinkly mushrooms some diced onions, a chopped up sweet pepper, a tin of tomatoes, a good dollop of lazy garlic and chilli sauce, a sliced up bendy carrot or two , then added some cubed potato a handful of diced onion and a bit of veggie stock bunged it into the slow cooker with some curry powder.gave it a good stir and have left it to its own devices to cook slowly since 10.00 a.m. this morning. Fingers crossed by the time I get home from my childcare grandma duties around 6ish it will be done and dusted:):)
Once it tastes how I like it and cooled down it will be portioned up for the freezer, nice cheapy way of using up veg and it will do me a good four meals ,either with rice or as a topping for a jacket spud.Far better than binning it .I quite like a veggie meal, especially a curry on wet cold evenings when I get in from DDs.
Hope everyone has had a good Monday, its been nice this morning but wet and nasty this afternoon with more forecast for tomorrow
Cheers chums
