Taylor Wimpy Sound proofing

Hello,

Looking to buy a three year old Taylor wimpy 3 story semi, estate looks tidy with some expensive houses on. Question: will the soundproofing be any good? I think its masonry not timber frame.

Each development, probably even each house is different, so go for a second viewing, make a load of noise and see if the neighbors come round to complain ^^

The sound proofing will be up to building regulations at the time of construction.

It's been mentioned, the soundproofing will be to whatever the building regulations demanded. How good that is and what is considered tolerable vary wildly between people, I don't want to hear a sound some people don't mind some neighbour noise.

My flat was built by Taylor Wimpey about 5 years ago and I never hear my neighbours, except when they run their washing machine. Maybe both sides and the flat above are just very quiet though...
  • Libf, sounds impressive, I live in a 1930's flat. Everyone told me how solid these old buildings were. I can hear people cough, break wind and stir a cup of tea. Don't want the same from a new build !
  • One thing you could consider is where your bedroom is, next to the party wall or not? Personally I don't mind a bit of noise from the neighbours during the day/evening when I'm awake but during the night would like silence, any noise that does transmit should be deadened or even inaudible in a room on the other side of the house (unless neighbours are very noisy or sound proofing is very poor).

Not simultaneously, I trust. Could be messy. ;)

My Sons 30 year old Wimpy house is single brick with wood frame and insulation jacket, seems to work well.

I live in a 11 year house by George Wimpey before their merger. Solid construction and not a sound from my neighbours I can hear, despite my nightly escapades.
