New Contract - Free Nintendo Wii

There are a few retailers out there who seem to be offering a free Wii with new contracts. Has any one taken up this offer? If so how long did it take to arrive. Can anyone reccomend a retailer to go with? I am looking for an Orange contract as I want to take up their offer of free boradband (Orange being my current provider). I assume that once I get the mobile I simply need to phone Orange and they will switch my broadband on to the free service.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

I've not tried of any such deals myself but have looked a quite a few where they offer free wii, ps3 etc and most of the them don't look like the best deals.

If you add up what your total line rental will come to at times its better just to buy the wii yourself and get a cheaper contract

    Fully agree with Gordon.

Apart from that what is the difference between giving you the value of a wii or whatever in cash back and you can go and buy it yourself.

Errrrrrrrr.......yes I used the words 'cash back'. Read the threads relating to 'cash back' and think carefully. Replace 'cash back' with 'free goodies' perhaps.

A cheap, and rather obvious, marketing ploy to distract people from the 'cash back' problems as discussed in these and other forums.

I did one through Dial A Phone a couple of weeks ago, they state up to 28 days for delivery of the Wii, so still have the possibility of it being a couple of weeks until I get it, but they have sent a txt today saying the despatch is imminent, so will wait and see.

As for not being a good deal - well that is down to the individual, for me it was a good deal, got the contract I wanted, the phone I wanted and a free Wii, all for no more then I would have paid going directly with the operator, I am sure you can get cashbacks etc of that's what you want, all down to the individual!!!

Perhaps I was a little harsh.

With companies such as 'dial a phone' I guess you should be Ok.

My concern is that some of the cash back scammers will change tack and offer deals such as this in order to try and distance themselves from 'cash back' That in 6 months time we will have numerous forums relating to missing games consoles!! Treat these offers as you would a 'cash back' offer. The 'cash back' being the current cost of the relevant console.

    We'll see!!

i've just gone for one of these through mobiles2yourdoor (part of dial-a-phone) which i didnt think was a bad deal.

£40 a month, 9 months at £20 (via cashback, totalling £180 cashback) and a free wii (despatched 28days after) all on a 12 months contract.

i dont think its too shabby at all, get 500mins any time any network + 500 txts.

I was currently paying £30 for 200 mins and 500 txts and orange could only offer me £35 and a 18month contract which i really dont want.

The phone is only a Nokia 6300 but i already have a Samsung D900 which im currently using so i might even sell the nokia to get a bit extra money.

    also you can use Quidco!

In truth I don't need a £35 a month contract, as the £20 a month one I have now is adequate, but going above £30 on Orange means my broadband become free so it seems like a reasonable deal. If I could get an alternative with decent cash back then I suppose that would give me the money to buy the Wii direct. Anyone any views on the level of cashback available against the purchase price of a Wii (about £180)?

    of course!

someone on another forum said they got a text regarding despatch of Wii long before 28 days is up, so hopefully i'll get the same.

the phone is better than what i was expecting as well, think i might keep it now:beer:
