Keeping number when switching provider

Options
Hi guys,

Wondering if anyone can offer any advice about keeping numbers when switching providers these days. And how easy/problematic it is.

I got one of the cheap sky codes for my parents and it will save them a lot of money potentially, although I'm disappointed about how little information there seems to be about the deal. It's really rather poor compared to the rapid responses on the energy board regarding the MSE switch both from the MSE team and the E.ON reps.

My parents would not be at all happy if they ended up losing their number because of it though, they are currently with BT. Having been through the sky ordering page there is very little about keeping the number. Although their FAQ says it's possible. I'm sure in the past there used to be a check box to say that you would like to keep your number r get a new one, but there is nothing now.

And following on from that, if they transfer the number to sky, is it easy enough to switch back to the likes of BT again. Sky has LLU lines at their exchange, I don't know if that makes any difference or not.

Thanks
