They contain accounts of allegations.
Im confused why OP would word it like this , if it wasnt because it isnt she didnt do it , more that she cant see it amounting to GM
Especially example 3 , which admits something happened , but in her room , rather than a classroom
And I was being silly with quiz buzzers that make silly noises am I put 2 down my top and pressed them and said ding dong!! Avon calling. I hardly think that is gross misconduct. Stupid perhaps.
No I did not say ding dong Avon calling.. It was apparently something 'like that
I was not teaching a lesson when the buzzer issue happened. Students were sat in my room messing about with themNever, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0 -
Whether the OP did what she's being accused of or not is not clear because of the very garbled way the post was written. It's a good thing that English isn't her subject."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0

I agree that it's not clear. The OP needs his/her union.0

pimento - the same evidence of poor reading and writing skills are in most of the posts on this Thread.
I exclude those of Viola Lass.
op - if this is genuine, should you return, please use para.s , italics or citation marks for the allegations, check your spelling and grammar. Your posts do not show sound, basic, articulate writing ability at any teaching level.
This goes for many of the replies, too, but I doubt they are from teachers.
Re-read what you have written before posting. Many sentences, including those beginning with prepositions :-), are so written as to offer several meanings.
'series' = 'serious'?
Your sudden locum path is odd, even under this Government.
When did your career break start?
Enhanced CRB checks beforehand?
What references did this school take up?
Presumably your Union [which one?]is on top of this by now.

Just putting the buzzers down your top while alone (no mention of any other staff in the posts) with children would be enough for me.It's taken me years of experience to get this cynical0

And again, it is not clear whether the OP actually did this or whether it has just been alleged or whether something similar but different happened.
What's the point in being judgemental anyway? The OP needs to go to his/her union and that's really the only useful advice to give here.0 -

I'm not going to comment on what the OP did or didn't do (though I wouldn't have appreciated it if I had been one of the students).
I'm just wondering what happened to the plans to look after the grandchildren. Don't they need looking after anymore?
Or perhaps they're too young to appreciate gran's holiday adventures and fun with buzzers...0 -

Yet , according to Viola lass , OP said she didnt do it

Yes, the OP is garbled and has evidence of poor spelling and grammar. However, the poster's contention that all actions were ALLEGED does match what is said in the OP. Try reading it again with this implied punctuation.Sunnybunny wrote: »Please could someone advise me on my rights. I am waiting for my Union to get back to me, as the rep is busy.
I recently decided to have a career break from teaching and left my last post in July to look after my grandchildren, but I got a phone call out of the blue from a friend from another establishment who were desperate for a member of staff in her 6th form college. I wasn't keen, but went in for a chat and agreed to a temporary contract until December.
I started in August amidst Ofsted re inspection, which is one of the reasons for full staffing. Then was hit with the news of redundancies, low student numbers, the need to save money etc.
On Thursday I heard my line manager say that they were bringing in someone from another department to do my job. In the meantime the post had been advertised as permanent and I had applied. I challenged, what I had heard and was told that it was confidential and was just being discussed.
The next day I am being marched off the premises for alleged gross misconduct and sacked! No warning, nothing.
Apparently I
- discussed my holiday with the students
- and the fact that I danced with a black man, God forbid, which is not gross misconduct...
- And (again apparently, according to my interpretation of this post) I was being silly with quiz buzzers that make silly noises am (and?) I put 2 down my top and pressed them and said, "ding dong!! Avon calling".
I hardly think that is gross misconduct. Stupid perhaps. But I also think a senior manager (1) telling us all to keep our mouths shut before we get interviewed by Ofsted more series (serious?) and (2) using the F word far worse.Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0
