I have the Acer 13" CB5-311 and I love it.
I think it's perfect for what you need it for, very speedy when browsing and boots up quickly when you turn it on.
The battery life is great on mine too.0 -
thanks juzza greatly appreciated!! Do you find it a nuisance not being able to print and having no dvd player??0

I had an Acer C720. I think its screen is 11".
The two big downers for me were the:
screen size. It was just a little too small for me and a little dull;
keyboard. I didn't like the keyboard much and missed the number pad more than I thought I would.
I gave it away.
My Windows laptop has a DVD drive. I rarely use it, so I didn't miss it.
I did find not being able to print directly from it an issue.0 -
Light-weight Windows machines have been around for a while.

Dont have the Acer, I have the 14" HP and love it, quick start up within 4 secs, closing about 5 secs, and changing pages as fast as lightening 99% of the time. , and battery lasts a good 10 hours. Does what i need, which is browsing and e-mails, there was a slight problem loading my photos, but just googled this and was easy to sort out.
I can print, just haven't needed too yet, as on reading info, looks like a bit of a phaff, i'm supposed to have a cloud enabled printer but you can connect an ordinary one, its just i'm not technie minded, but if you know anyone that is, would probably take them 10 mins to connect.
And you can buy a dvd attatchment, but i haven't as not needed one, yet.
There is no numerical keyboard, very slightly miss it and nothing to tell you if your on caps or not.
Best thing i've ever bought, for my needs. Outcome; consider the 14".Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030 :eek: Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190 -

And you can by a DVD attacker0 -
IMHO, the new Windows 10 based machine make Chromebooks unattractive on price/features -

A chromebook is much faster than a low end windows machine, mine is as fast as my i3 HP 8.1 machine. A DVD drive would plug into the USB so no drivers required. Printing work OK using Google docs but as I have a windows machine there isn't much point. They are also very resistant to malware/viruses without any need for antivirus software.0
